If you're familiar with WoW Season of Discovery, you likely understand that efficiently completing all your prequests and consistently engaging in dungeons will swiftly propel you to level 50.
However, for those who seek a more immersive experience, this guide offers comprehensive coverage of optimal questing zones, alongside valuable advice, recommended levels, and strategic routes tailored to enhance your journey during Season of Discovery Phase 3.
Before delving into the details, it's essential to grasp 5 key points:
Firstly, Season of Discovery presents an array of engaging content, including new runes and PVE experiences such as Nightmare Incursions in Ashenvale, Duskwood, Hinterlands, and Feralas. These events not only provide valuable experience and reputation but also offer unique items like the Anguish of Dream and the Nightmare Siphon to aid in your leveling journey.
Secondly, during the questing process towards level 50, there are often periods of slower progression. Engaging in dungeons like Uldaman, Zul'Farrak, and Maraudon can mitigate these lulls. It's advisable to undertake each of these dungeons at least once due to the multitude of quests available, providing substantial experience and introducing fresh content.
Thirdly, certain recommended zones may experience overcrowding, prompting the need for rerouting. Many of these zones encompass broad level ranges, allowing for flexibility in exploration.
Fourthly, it's important to note that undertaking quests marked as "green" provides comparable base experience to those labeled "yellow" or "orange" as long as you remain within five levels of their suggested level range.
Lastly, this guide serves as a comprehensive overview rather than a definitive roadmap to the fastest route to level 50. It aims to offer guidance on worthwhile zones and content areas to explore throughout your journey.
Stranglethorn Vale proves to be an exceptional questing zone for Phase 3, as well as an ideal area for those in their early 40s.
Renowned for its dense population of hostile creatures and abundance of kill quests, it offers a fertile ground for efficient leveling. Most initial quests in this zone lead to subsequent higher-level tasks, enhancing its appeal as a starting point for adventurers seeking optimization.
Before delving into Stranglethorn Vale, it's advisable to collect quests between Grom'gol and Booty Bay. Many of these quests overlap in various areas, allowing for simultaneous completion and streamlined progression.
Additionally, quests such as "Up to Snuff" and "Bloody Bone Necklaces," forming part of separate quest chains, need not be rushed during the first attempt. These chains often circle back to the same areas, simplifying future completion.
Should challenges arise, whether due to player-versus-player encounters or overcrowding, Dustwallow Marsh presents a viable alternative for smoother questing.
However, I recommend venturing into Scarlet Monastery Cathedral until reaching level 41 or 42, offering a strategic advantage over competing adventurers.
At approximately level 41 or 42, our journey leads us to the Badlands.
This region remains beneficial for leveling until around level 45, offering straightforward starting quests that yield ample experience. However, the primary allure lies in its connection to Uldaman, housing numerous dungeon quests to undertake.
Among these quests are "Solutions of Doom," situated in the southern Badlands at coordinates 51,76; "Power Stones," located at the heart of the region at 42,52; and "Platinum Disc," obtainable upon completing the dungeon itself. These quests provide adventurers with rewarding challenges and opportunities for progression.
For Horde players, it's advisable to remain in the Badlands until reaching approximately level 42 to 43, before transitioning to the Swamp of Sorrows.
This area offers promising opportunities for leveling, although caution is warranted due to the scattered yet dense population of hostile creatures.
Particular attention should be paid to the higher-level mobs near the Pools of Tears, especially with the presence of the new raid, Sunken Temple (also known as The Temple of Atal'Hakkar). Additionally, a formidable elite dragon roams the vicinity of the Eastern pool, necessitating vigilance.
Moreover, herbalists seeking Blindweed should take note that the Swamp of Sorrows is one of the few regions where this valuable resource can be harvested. Its scarcity makes it a lucrative commodity, especially as Phase 3 approaches.
Our next destination is Dustwallow Marsh. It serves as a suitable area for early leveling, spanning from levels 35 to 45. However, the optimal level range within this zone typically falls around level 42.
Of particular note is the presence of a quest named "Tiara of the Deep," which constitutes one of the dungeon quests for Zul'Farrak. This quest can be obtained in the southern section of the zone. Dustwallow Marsh offers a mix of quests catering to varying levels, though many of them are part of quest chains, which may not be the most efficient for leveling.
Personally, I tend to venture into Dustwallow Marsh during periods of quest scarcity in other zones or when facing challenges such as player-versus-player encounters in hotspots like STV.
Around levels 44 to 45, it's time to venture into Tanaris.
Tanaris stands out as one of my preferred zones for questing in the mid-40s and is home to the entrance of one of the finest dungeons available in this level range: Zul'Farrak. To fully engage with this dungeon, it's essential to gather numerous Zul'Farrak quests from Gadgetzan.
These quests encompass "Troll Temper" from Trenton Lighthammer, situated at coordinates 51,28; "Scarab Shells" from Tran'rek, located at 51,26; and "Divino-Matic Rod" from Chief Engineer Bilgewhizzle, positioned at 52,28.
Additionally, adventurers can acquire several quests from other zones, including "The Tiara of the Deep" from Dustwallow Marsh around 46,57, and "Gahz'rilla" from Thousand Needles at 77,78. However, it's crucial to note that completing "Gahz'rilla" necessitates obtaining a Mallet through a Hinterlands questline, so it's advisable to delay pursuing this quest. Finally, "The Prophecy of Mosh'aru" awaits discovery in the eastern section of Tanaris, known as Steamwheedle Port.
Between levels 45 to 46, Feralas emerges as the next optimal destination.
Prior to embarking on your journey to Feralas, ensure that you acquire the quest "Screecher Spirits" from Steamwheedle Port in Tanaris, as discussed earlier. Navigating this zone may pose challenges due to frequent changes in elevation, as well as the presence of numerous bodies of water and steep hills. Additionally, Feralas serves as the habitat for higher-level Nightmare Incursions, offering exciting opportunities for participation.
While exploring Feralas, be mindful of the high density of hostile mobs, which can be encountered throughout the area. However, it's crucial to exercise caution around the northern region, particularly the level 60 dungeon area known as Dire Maul. This area is teeming with elites that can pose significant challenges, making it advisable to steer clear of this vicinity.
Around levels 46 to 47, it's advisable to journey to the Hinterlands.
This zone boasts numerous kill quests and dense mob populations. Notably, it is renowned for housing the challenging Jintha'Alor elite quest lines, requiring group coordination for completion.
Although Horde players will find more quests available compared to Alliance counterparts, the Hinterlands offers viable content for both factions. I strongly endorse undertaking these quests, as they provide a rewarding and immersive experience akin to navigating an outdoor dungeon. Ensure you assemble a full group, including a tank and a healer, as you'll encounter numerous higher-level elites. Allocate a minimum of 45 minutes for this endeavor to account for its duration.
Completing this run will yield nearly a full level's worth of experience through grinding and quest turn-ins. Additionally, it grants access to the Sacred Mallet, enabling the summoning of a secret boss named Gahz'rilla within a dungeon. Furthermore, adventurers may encounter the quest "The Ancient Egg" during this run, which was previously a prerequisite for Sunken Temple.
However, its relevance may have diminished since the dungeon transitioned into a raid.
Finally, if you've reached this stage, you're on the right track, as by levels 48 to 49, you can conclude your leveling journey in Searing Gorge.
These quests can pose some challenges, so I recommend tackling them with one or two companions to ensure safety. The area is dense with both mobs and quests, and occasionally, the respawn timers may catch you off guard, especially in the depths of caves or mountains. Exercise caution.
Additionally, at this level range, I suggest undertaking some runs in Maraudon. This dungeon offers a plethora of rewarding quests and presents an enjoyable experience with valuable gear. It features two distinct wings that can be completed independently, denoted by orange and purple colors, respectively. You can obtain several quests for Maraudon in Desolace, such as "The Pariah's Instructions" located at Centaur Pariah (50,86), and "Twisted Evils" starting at Willow (62,39).
Furthermore, within the dungeon itself, you'll encounter two additional quests. "Legends of Maraudon" unfolds into three separate quests during a single run, offering significant experience gains, while the "Seed of Life" is obtained from the final boss, Princess Theradras.
There are also 3 distinct quests available for both Alliance and Horde factions, but they originate from different locations. These quests are named Shadow Shard Fragments, Vyletongue Corruption, and Corruption of the Earth and Seed.
If you intend to prepare in advance for these quests, Stranglethorn Vale (STV) is an excellent zone to begin prequesting. Ensure you visit each of the eight zones to unlock their flight paths before embarking on your journey. Additionally, resist the urge to rush through content solely to reach the maximum level. Classic emphasizes the journey of leveling, offering numerous opportunities for exploration and discovery along the way.
As we all know, a new phase of WoW Classic Season of Discovery is just approaching and will release within 2 days. Today, I’m here to provide you with a closer look at some of the important adjustments planned for the highly anticipated Phase 3, which you might not yet be aware of. Let’s dive right in!
If you thought the Phase 3 announcement was a little too fast, you're not the only one. Blizzard knows that they usually would like to give us 2 weeks' notice. It is a bit frustrating, though for a lot of players to not be able to have the announcement early enough to have enough preparation.
Although there is not much time left to make adequate preparations, you can still obtain as many WoW SOD Gold as possible before this new phase in Season of Discovery.
These updates include feral Druids receiving a new helmet enchant resembling a Wolfshead Helm. This enchant grants you 20 energy every time you shift into form, augmenting the power-shifting play style, particularly beneficial for Cat Form users.
There's a potential addition of Catnip in the next phase, boosting attack speed by 30% for 30 seconds, likely obtained as a consumable in the new PVP or Emerald Dream zone. These enhancements are significant for Feral Druids, catering to their needs and play style adjustments.
Hunters might obtain the Core Hound pet, possibly becoming a favored choice with its anticipated Flame Breath ability, potentially useful in PVP scenarios. Stay tuned for these exciting developments.
There's other blaring issues, something like class tuning. In particular, something like Shaman's being ridiculously powerful now. Blizzard has taken notice of these overly powerful classes, but will also say that towards the end of a phase, we probably won't be seeing class tuning going on because you usually will have them focus their development time on basically working on the next phase.
You may have noticed some runes sharing the same slot, have interesting wordings like the Gore rune for Feral Druids. It says that a last rate swipe or Maul will reset the cooldown of Mangle, but the last rate and Mangle are on the exact same rune slot. And this is something that Blizzard is also obviously aware of, but apparently it's a tricky fix. It's something they are trying to find a solution to.
But you might also notice that some runes don't actually give you DPS increases. It actually takes 855 seconds on average for the Gore rune to proc, giving you the same energy as a single power shift, especially now with the Helm enchant. So that makes this rune quite literally one of the weakest runes of all time.
And now, just caution players to temper your expectations in the next phase. We are definitely seeing some runes seem super overpowered and some seem kind of afterthought. I think if we are vocal enough with Blizzard, they will take a look at these runes that are very much underperforming, and potentially the ones that are very much over performing.
There's a little confusion about the Blood Moon event and the new currency called Massacre Coins. If you will be able to actually use the new currency for the mount, so if you want to buy yourself a mount, but don't worry, you can actually trade the new currency down at a 1:1 ratio for the silver used before.
So you'll definitely be able to get any of the old items from the Blood Moon event at the same pace. You don't have to worry about completely hoarding all of your current currency. You could use them to gain honor really quickly right at the beginning of the next phase to try to actually hit the highest ranks and get your entire PVP set within the first week.
Shamans are amazing AOE healers, but Paladins bringing kings out scaled that towards the end. But it was really that humans had Sword weapon skill that made them so powerful in WoW Classic. At Level 60, every race will have a way to pick 2 separate weapon skills that will give you +5 weapon skill. That means that the racial of weapon skill are completely useless for both Horde and Alliance.
The only racial that is effective within PvE is going to literally just be having an increase in your attack power from the Orc racial or having an increase in your attack speed from the Troll racial. Meaning that Horde, in the aspect of racial, has a significant advantage, basically an entire extra trinket than Alliance does. So if you’re going to be trying to parse or if you’re going to be trying to speed run Horde versus Alliance.
Actually pointing out that the rep bonus for being a human, you actually get 10% more reputation for being a human, will save you a huge amount of time in the long run. As well as humans have been the undisputed kings of melee for all of WoW Classic.
It suggests that it’s somewhat acceptable for other classes or races to receive attention in the Season of Discovery, particularly because it’s a seasonal realm and not an everlasting one. Hopefully, this will diversify the gameplay. Nonetheless, it also implies that only Orcs and Trolls have racial that effectively boost DPS in PvE.
Today, we will discuss a frequently asked question about World of WarCraft series of games, namely investment tips. There are often many players who say that not only are they unable to make a profit from their investments, but they end up losing gold, and the same is true for Season of Discovery.
So, here, we’ll demystify WOW Classic SOD investing and provide practical advice to help you understand Azeroth’s ever-changing market landscape while maximizing profits.
Season of Discovery differs from Classic Vanilla, and misinformation can easily lead to gold loss. With this guide, you’ll learn why investing isn’t always the best option, and how to protect the value of your gold if you choose not to invest. Let’s get started quickly!
Let’s start with when you shouldn’t invest in an item.
As mentioned earlier, Season of Discovery differs from Classic Vanilla. So, even though it looks like a tremendous opportunity to earn WOW Classic SOD Gold, a lot of what looks like a lucrative opportunity may actually become worthless because of these changes.
The first reason not to invest is the enormous difference in Season of Discovery, which means you shouldn’t invest in something just because the vanilla is cheaper.
For example, after adding Windfury to Alliance, two-handed and main-hand weapons should no longer be enchanted with the stones. So now that Warrior uses two-handed weapons, Elemental Shaman may opt for one-handed weapons to benefit from double spell power enchants and oil applications.
These meta-changes, as well as potential future changes, have significant market implications. For example, there will be significantly less demand for Elemental Earth than in the past, and stone enchants will also be used significantly less, especially between Alliances.
The second reason for not investing is that developers update Season of Discovery quickly and don’t always provide comprehensive information.
For example, the upcoming Temple of Atal’Hakkar raid may introduce a lot of specific materials that players have been collecting. If you invest a lot of WOW Classic SOD Gold in these materials, their prices will skyrocket as new raid content is released.
However, if instead the developers remove the materials you invested in from the core game, you’ll lose a lot of gold. This also turns your investment in Season of Discovery into a gamble.
So, in most cases, it’s best not to invest unless you’re at least 90% confident that it will deliver strong returns.
The third reason not to invest is that the value of gold depreciates over time and small profits often become insignificant.
In my opinion, if you expect a profit of only 20% on an investment, it’s best to avoid it. Because the value of gold usually drops significantly within three to four weeks of a new phase, sometimes by more than half.
The fourth reason not to invest is that updates to other World of WarCraft series games may seriously affect Season of Discovery and cause the value of WOW SOD Gold to drop significantly.
For example, I personally could not have predicted that the value of WOTLK Classic would temporarily decline with the release of Season of Discovery. While some may consider WOW Cataclysm Classic to be less popular, something similar may happen in Season of Discovery.
Therefore, investing in anything runs the risk of losing more gold as the value of gold drops when another WOW Classic receives an update.
The fifth reason is to avoid investing in something if everyone else is doing the same thing. For example, if a large portion of the player base starts investing in an item, farmers will notice the price spike and start grinding the materials, so the surplus of that item will flood everyone’s banks.
When new content is launched, everyone rushes to sell their inventory, causing prices to plummet and potentially causing investors to lose large amounts of gold.
The ultimate reason not to invest is that, as its name suggests, Season of Discovery is a seasonal expansion, and this seasonal nature makes a significant difference compared to Vanilla, especially in terms of XP rates and upgrades.
Each phase of Season of Discovery lasts for 3 months. Most players achieve their goals with the main characters within two months, and the remaining time can be used to level up the alt.
Since this alt is primarily active in that specific phase, and does not require exclusive items or consumable upgrades. This also makes many of the items or consumables used to craft it serve different purposes than Classic Vanilla.
If you want to invest, then we need to take a deeper look at what to invest in first. We already know that we should focus on items that aren’t as widely known, and keep an eye out for updates in Season of Discovery and other World of WarCraft games. Consider meta class changes and ensure potential investments provide reasonable profits.
Now we discuss which items can be considered good investments.
For the first reason, I think an excellent investment is bound to be limited by resources, or at least shouldn’t exist in late phase dungeons and raids.
Let me give you an example. In Phase 1, I was focused on one specific investment, Dark Iron Ordinance. I chose this item because it was introduced in Season of Discovery and has no other potential location in the later phases. Luckily, the developers didn’t add it in the next patch and I ended up making a decent profit from it.
Regarding the second reason for investment, I think specific items should be particularly useful given the update and should have a lower drop rate or be difficult to farm. This ensures that if its price suddenly spikes because of high demand, farmers cannot quickly bring down its price, such as for Golden Pearl.
This is the best material in the endgame and is extremely rare, but it’s currently extremely cheap on some servers, making it barely worth farming for you. However, despite these factors, there are still concerns that other game updates may reduce its value.
As for the last reason, if an item is very cheap and close to its vendor price, it may be worth the investment when you get the item at a cheap price. Even if things don’t go as expected, you can still sell it for the same price and the only consequence you will face is a decrease in the value of the gold.
Finally, let’s delve into how you can avoid losing value in your gold, and I think the best way to do that is to hold gold.
If you don’t have a lot of gold during the first four weeks of the new phase, there’s a good chance that the value of gold will increase during this period, and you may need it to craft new crafts.
However, if you find yourself with excess gold and aren’t sure what to do with it, you have a few options. You can invest it in your alt or consider transferring it to other games.
In short, as long as you understand the nuances of Season of Discovery investing, you will not miss any profitable opportunities. Whether you’re an experienced trader or new to Azeroth economy, this guide is your essential companion for thriving in World of WarCraft. Let’s embark on the journey to become an investment master in Season of Discovery!
With the WoW Classic Season of Discovery Phase 2 having been available for nearly 2 months now, it’s likely that Phase 3 will come out next month in April. We have access to some leaked information that helps us make reasonable guesses.
As recent leaks about new raid content have suggested, the upcoming raid is likely to be the Sunken Temple. Datamining from the PTR reveals notable changes, such as a shift in Sunken Temple’s lockout to a 3-day duration and its instant ID being assigned the number 23.
Notably, Sunken Temple already accommodated up to 10 players, consistent with many vanilla dungeons. Blizzard has confirmed that the next raid will support 20 players. Taking these factors into account, it seems unlikely that the next phase will see 2 raids. Expect us to see a 20-man Sunken Temple raid.
The Sunken Temple could be the next raid following Stranglethorn Vale. Blizzard claims to highlight underrated instances, and Stranglethorn Vale falls squarely into that category. Sunken Temple aligns well with the ongoing Stranglethorn Vale PvP event. This connection could be attributed to our actions empowering the Blood God, Hakkar, through encounters like the world boss Lord Kazzak, thus potentially increasing Sunken Temple’s significance in the game world.
Sunken Temple’s intricate design includes some hidden bosses, which may have been overlooked by many players. Coordinating a team for these encounters could be challenging. Summoning Atal’hakkar, for instance, required players to manipulate snake statues on balconies in a specific sequence. Atal’hakkar boasted a formidable health pool and could unleash a devastating knockback.
Sunken Temple housed another hidden boss, the Avatar of Hakkar, accessible through a questline. Defeating this boss was no simple feat, as players had to withstand the relentless waves of Hakkari Bloodkeeper. In Phase 3, there are hints suggesting a revamp of heroic PvE content, possibly introducing heroic plus dungeons or similar challenges.
Blizzard’s recent email survey included a question about the importance of Heroic Plus or Titan Rune dungeons in the Season of Discovery. Blizzard hinted at adding more difficult modes, indicates a potential expansion of challenging content. Such additions would align with player expectations and keep the game engaging across each phase release.
There have also been a number of interesting datamined class runes in the latest PTR build. Some seem reasonable and obviously seem a little wacky and far-fetched.
Mage: The Balefire Bolt is similar to Arcane Blast, but you lose Spirit on every stack rather than being increased mana consumption, and then when you reach zero Spirit, you actually die. Deep Freeze and Molten Armor might be getting added.
Warlock: There are Summon Felguard, Pandemic, Backdraft, Unstable Affliction and Immolation Aura, but these were determined to be in the Phase 2 PTR, so I’m not sure whether we’re going to get these.
Priest: The Despair that hints that we might be getting crit on dots. There’s also this ability called the V-zone. It’s basically a bit similar to a Death Knight’s Death and Decay.
Rogue: may be getting Honor Amongst Thieves along with some new runes to increase their energy regen.
Druid: Get a solid AOE ability as Gale Winds that increases the Hurricane damage and removes the cooldown.
Hunter: Get something new called Focus Fire, where they can consume a pet’s Frenzy Stacks to increase their own ranged attack speed or you might be getting Taste for Blood. This is a proc that allows your overpower to be usable in rats.
Paladin: There’s purifying power allowing you to use Fanaticism and Holy Wrath on any target, and this should be a huge buff to them. They may also get their raft cooldown.
It appears that there is a new trend emerging as a gold bot epidemic among Horde gold farmers, as they are unable to farm stockades. Instead, they have turned to fishing squid. This strategy makes sense, as one only needs to reach Level 5 to get started, and it can yield a decent amount of WoW SOD Gold, especially with people buying these in anticipation of Phase 3.
Setting up fishing bots is much simpler compared to full-scale farming bots. Although the Grilled Squid recipe for the 10 agility food buff is not yet learnable, people are profiting from stockpiling it for the Phase 3 release, when it is expected to become the most sought-after food buff in the game. There's a possibility that they are transferring their stock of squid to unused bot accounts to avoid losing it.
Taking a closer look at the top 3 speedruns for Gnomeregan reveals some intriguing insights. Despite variations in team compositions, one consistent factor stands out: a Warlock Tank. This choice is logical, as Warlocks not only inflict substantial damage but also excel at handling the bombs on the final boss.
What's particularly interesting is the inclusion of 2 Shadow Priests in the world record run, despite their reputation as underperformers. This suggests that factors beyond boss DPS play a crucial role. Shadow Priests shine in managing trash mobs, a vital aspect of speedruns.
The composition heavily favors casters, which can pose challenges because of mana regeneration issues. However, the addition of 2 Shamans providing Shamanistic Rage, a potent mana regeneration tool, mitigates this concern. This setup underscores the dominance of Horde in the current speedruns.
Notably, DPS characters are significantly contributing to healing, signaling a shift in the meta strategy. Stacking Shamans for Shamanistic Rage to support a caster-heavy group appears to be the preferred approach. This allows casters to excel in dealing AOE damage to trash mobs, further optimizing speedrun performance.
Hi, players! Today, let me present to you a mobs farming guide that will yield a substantial amount of gold in WoW Season of Discovery Phase 2, even more than Uldaman! I'm sure you won't want to miss this!
If you like ships, pirates, and treasure maps, stay tuned as I’m about to show you how to clear most pirates at Lost Rigger Cove in 3 pulls, how to open the captain’s chest if you don’t have it on your ship, and how to find Lost Treasure quest by following multiple treasure maps.
For talents, any of the Beast Mastery, Marksmanship, or Survival builds work fine. In this farming, you can put around 7 or 8 points invested in Beast Mastery and the rest in Survival. As for the rune, you can choose Lone Wolf, which seems to be at least 30 seconds to 1 minute faster than Heart of Lion.
First, we need to head to the Lost Rigger Cove in Tanaris, at the workshop boat. We’re going to pull pirates with levels 44 and 45, using our serpent pet. The reason why we’re using the wind serpent is because it has a ranged attack. So you want to body pull the first mobs and then use the WeakAura with 5.5 seconds until the next mobs will aggro. We’re also trying to use the range attack to pull all the mobs that we can.
Make sure if you have Southsea Freebooter in the first pull, try not to pull more than 2 Southsea Freebooters because they are ranged mobs and they’re going to kill you. You can just body pull those 2 mobs and put a free Frost Trap in the middle. Try to practice this jump. Basically, the jump is you press jump and once you reach the highest point of the jump. Press forward and then you slightly move on the ledge.
For our pets, the serpent has dive rank 1, which is 40% speed, while a wolf or a cat can have dash rank 2, which is 60% speed. You can actually use any pet you want. Once all the mobs are dispatched, they'll attempt to flee. Focus on the remaining Level 45 mobs, applying Serpent Sting and Multi-Shot for maximum damage.
For the second pull, we're using the Eye of the Beast. Starting from the back of the ship, we aim to avoid aggroing extra mobs from the front and risking getting dazed too soon. If the pet gets dazed, it complicates the pull significantly. So, we opt for approaching from behind the ship.
Our target is to pull the mobs known as the Southsea Swashbuckler. Once we aggro the first pack, you'll notice my WeakAuras displaying a bar with a 5.5-second duration. We proceed to engage the second pack, attempting to cast a Lightning Bolt on both mobs and avoiding getting dazed. Despite getting dazed at one point, you can maneuver by strafing backwards to evade it.
As you gain experience, you'll become adept at pulling more mobs behind you. Setting down the Frost Trap, we jump back up and commence with Explosive Shot and Explosive Trap. Occasionally, the mobs may respawn in such cases, simply add them to the rotation. They'll run into the Frost Trap, making it easy to handle.
For the third pull, we'll back off a bit because the mobs will respawn. We use Eye of the Beast again, and this time, we can go in front. We're going to go all the way up into the boat. Try to walk, strafe, jump backward. Once you get undazed, just move ahead all the way on top of the ship. Then get the one furthest away and use a Lightning Bolt.
Now, you can jump in the ship and press escape, and the mob will get automatically teleported to you. You can try to pull more mobs, especially if you have pirates, not the Freebooters because the Freebooters are kind of dangerous. We're not going to interfere with our first pull. We're just going to pull the mobs on the left and the right.
Let's delve into the contents of the Captain's Footlocker, which holds several valuable items. Firstly, it may contain a quest item along with the item required to start the quest, typically available for 4 WoW SOD Gold. It may house a Captain's Key, a unique item used to unlock a Captain's Chest located on the third boat, where we engage the mobs. Inside, you may find a guaranteed green item or the elusive Southsea Lamp.
It could contain Journeyman's Backpack, 14 Slaughters, and other valuable items. If you obtain a captain's key, it's unique, but you can store the extras in the pet footlocker without opening them, allowing you to open them later as needed. It's advisable to accumulate several keys before opening the chest since it respawns every 20 to 30 seconds.
In addition to the Captain's Footlocker, you may discover the Upper Map Fragment, Middle Map Fragment, and Lower Map Fragment, which, when combined, form one treasure map. Completing the quest initiated by these maps grants you Cuergo's Treasure Map. However, one drawback is if you die the Corpse Run is quite long and it's going to take a while to get back.
Complete the quest Cuergo's Gold and accept the reward from the quest - Cuergo's Hidden Treasure. First, you'll need a key. It is quite a complicated quest because of the mobs that spawn out of 5 on the map. You need to kill one of the 5 mobs so you can loot the key. Then you have to reset the mobs to loot the treasure chest.
Kite one mob far away until it dies, and then you Feign Death and loot the key. When you go back to the initial chest, you put the pet far away, like 100 yards away from the chest. You attack with the pet, and then you put the pet on passive, and you go and loot the chest. The mobs will follow the pet, you will loot the chest, rinse and repeat.
Hi, gamers! Welcome to this new WoW Season of Discovery guide, and today's topic is addons. I will introduce 7 addons to enhance your gaming experience in Phase 2. These addons are very useful, making them an indispensable tool in your gaming process. Now, let's delve into what each of them offers.
Let’s first discuss the Dejunk addon. You may find yourself with a full bag and can't loot useful items like epics while grinding or raiding. It’s a common issue, often beacuse of a lack of sufficient bag space and organization. Enter Dejunk, a handy addon designed to address this problem.
When Dejunk displays the inexpensive items in your bag, clicking on 'destroy next items', Dejunk automatically removes items based on their value, starting with the cheapest ones.
However, Dejunk also allows for manual customization. By accessing the settings menu, you can add specific items that you want to prioritize for destruction. For instance, you might choose to add solid stones due to their low value on the auction house, even though it may not always be the best decision to destroy them.
Adding items manually is simple. Just click 'add an item' and input the item ID. If you’re unsure of the item ID, you can find it on websites like WoWhead. Once added, Dejunk will automatically prioritize these items for destruction if they are less valuable.
Dejunk offers keybinding options for added convenience. Accessing the options menu, you can set up keybindings to toggle the junk frame or automatically destroy the cheapest item without opening the interface. Dejunk is a versatile addon that works seamlessly with idTip, another addon mentioned, making it easy to manage and prioritize items in your inventory.
Let's now discuss the next addon, Aux. Aux is an Auction House addon featuring a sleek UI complete with features like favorite and recent searches, along with an intuitive item posting system. The UI itself is easy to navigate and boasts clear, large fonts, for example, Prototype. Within Aux, you'll find a filter builder that simplifies item searches, as well as a convenient history of previously searched items.
When posting items, you may notice that only a limited number of listings are displayed, which could be becasue of certain settings. For example, if Mageweave was previously sold for 12 silver, you might want to verify how many stacks are currently listed at that price. Upon checking, you might find a discrepancy, with only a few stacks available at a lower price. In such cases, you can adjust your listing accordingly to maximize your profits.
Aux offers a tooltip option that provides various item details, including vendor price and auction house availability. However, to ensure accuracy, it's important to scan the Auction House daily. You can also view disenchant values and distribution using specific commands.
Despite the availability of more advanced Auction House addons like TSM 3, I've found Aux to be more than sufficient for we need. It effectively fulfills my requirements for listing items quickly and managing the Auction House efficiently whenever I need to make WoW SOD Gold.
Let’s discuss the next item on our list. Sometimes, we find ourselves short on space in our action bars to accommodate all our spells, items, and consumables. With just a key press, the menu appears at your mouse pointer, allowing you to add anywhere from 12 to 24 extra action bars in a circular layout.
Here’s how it works: You activate RingMenu, and it appears in your mouse pointer. You can then click on the spell or item you need, and the menu disappears automatically.
This addon is incredibly versatile. Hunters can use it to organize tracking abilities, Mages can utilize it for portals and additional spells, and professions like Conjure Water. Essentially, it can be customized to suit your specific needs.
In the options menu, you’ll find various customization options. You can adjust the button size, increase the number of action bars from 12 to 24, and even expand the radius of the RingMenu to cover half of your screen if desired. You can also set keybindings to easily open and close the menu.
RingMenu is a fantastic addon that helps save space on your main action bars by allowing you to hide less frequently used spells and items. It’s especially useful for PvP situations and damage dealing scenarios, where quick access to essential abilities is crucial.
Cursor Trail is an addon designed to enhance your pointer experience in WoW Classic. When activated, it leaves circles and snowflakes behind your cursor, offering a frosty aesthetic. This setup is particularly suited for Mages. One of the main benefits of using this addon is its usefulness with cursor macros.
It allows you to find where you place your spells, such as Frost Strike, Blizzard, Frost Traps, and Master Spells easily. By customizing the color and appearance of the cursor, making it easier to track during intense gameplay.
The addon comes with a variety of settings that can be adjusted to suit your preferences. You can change the scale, shadow intensity, and opacity of the cursor trail. There are options for different trail effects, including lightning and circles, as well as color customization for different classes like Warlocks.
Let's move on to the next addon, NugRunning. NugRunning is an incredibly versatile addon that allows you to track a wide range of effects such as DoTs, shields and more. You can even create custom trackers for trinkets and other specific effects.
If you notice that a particular spell or effect isn't being tracked, you can easily add it by accessing the addon's options menu. Simply locate the spell ID for the effect you want to track and then add it to the spell list in NugRunning.
This addon also works seamlessly with other addons like ID Tip, which displays spell IDs when you hover over spells or DoTs. NugRunning offers extensive customization options, allowing you to adjust the appearance and layout of your trackers to suit your preferences. Whether you're grinding mobs or raiding dungeons, NugRunning can help you stay on top of your important buffs and debuffs with ease.
Let’s move to the next one. This is a helpful addon for items. This will show all the items you pick as scrolling loot text right there above your character, with the number and value of the item, but also the color and the rarity of the item in the font. It’s called Scrolling Loot Text.
This addon does exactly what it says it does. It has a couple of commands you can add. For example, if you want to see honor as a scrolling loot text, you can also increase the scale of the item set so you can see better. Just use the command /SloTe, or whatever works best for you. You can also do /SloTe test to see how it would look.
Let’s move to the last one, which is connected with this one. Improved Loot Frame is an addon that condenses all the loot into one page when using the Blizzard default loot frame. Instead of having 3 items per page and then keep pressing next until you get to the last item, using this addon will allow you to see better what’s on a boss, but also on chests. When you loot a chest, sometimes there are so many items, like 5 or 10 potions, herbs, items, cloth, and so on.
In this guide, I want to talk about everything I do to maximize leveling speed, and what you can apply with the new 100% XP bonus. Including how to maximize the world buff Sleeping Bag, how to maximize your enchantments, your gear, and how to take advantage of large open world quest changes.
If you follow this guide, you will be able to easily level up from level 1 to level 40 in 2 hours. So we’ll start by discussing everything you need to do to increase your leveling speed.
Let’s get into an optimal buff strategy. In Season of Discovery Phase 2, buffs are a huge game-changer.
We have three main buffs: Spark of Inspiration, Boon of Blackfathom, and Darkmoon Faire.
Spark of Inspiration and Boon of Blackfathom will actually only drop during peak hours, so you have to make sure to plan accordingly. I think BFD Buff is the most valuable. So I usually put my Hunters in Thunder Bluff to get the buff more often. Darkmoon Faire 10% Buff is also reliable, but can only be obtained once every four hours.
Overall, my goal is to go from level 1 to level 20. Above level 20, I selectively decide when to buff based on the area. For example, I usually use buffs in places like Ashenvale. Also, Thousand Needles is one of my top choices, as I know I tend to be safer in Horde area.
Next, let’s get into optimal rune strategies. This is truly the most important part of the upgrade guide. You must have at least three major runes that you are really sure of to increase your level to 40.
For my Hunter, I chose Master Marksman, Flanking Strike and Beast Mastery. Once you identify the three main runes you want to carry with you, you need to plan when to get them on your route.
After all the runes are sorted, we have to discuss the best gear strategy. The first thing I did with my gear was head to the auction house and I got the full 12 slot bag to store all my quest items in Waylaid Supplies. I also bought the best gear I could find for different levels.
As a Hunter, I just go for maximum agility gear, and I also get new bows every few levels. Overall, I recommend checking Auction House every six to eight levels.
Then, for Enchant, you can get powerful enchants, like +5 Agility Gloves, all the way up to level 40. This feels great on the way to the level cap. Of course, don’t forget some less obvious enchants, such as Scopes on the bow to increase damage.
For consumables, my chief priority is just Elixir of Agility that is a must for my Hunter. But you can go out and get Defensive Potions, Elixir of Ogre’s Strength, and Engineering Dense Dynamite. Everything you get increases your kill time and leveling speed.
The most important consumable you can get is from Sleeping Bag quest line. Student Fodder you get will give you 20% of Rested XP bar, but they do have a 30 minute cooldown.
Most people would recommend saving them until level 38. But honestly, basically every hour between level 35 and 40, you get a huge mental boost. So I’ll pop one in and it really helps me get to the top level all the time.
Don’t forget the agility potions, they can be helpful if you don’t have Aspect of the Cheetah.
Finally, let’s talk about our leveling tips.
I recommend completing the missions with friends to keep things fun and fresh. And you’ll both get a Rested XP bar until level 22, and then split it up from there.
One of the best reasons I level with friends is that I probably won’t be very strong until I get at least three runes. Having a partner to level with me really speeds up leveling. Then, when I became an unstoppable killing machine, I could also get back to solo leveling.
Another early leveling tip I have is to use Rank Sentinel to make sure you don’t mess up skill ranks. I’ve had some wrong ranks of abilities for a long time, but if you have this add-on, you’ll never let that happen.
I definitely recommend completing Sleeping Bag quest line at level 14 when you head to the historic areas. Most servers have someone who can summon you to each Sleeping Bag location for about 15 WOW Classic SOD Gold, which will save you almost an hour of travel time.
Sleeping Bag itself should be used during rest periods. Once you’re exhausted, just jump in for 3 minutes. You can simply jump in for 1 minute to refresh it though, so never let the buff wear off.
Once you reach level 22 or so, you can use Rested XP bar. We have three different options when it comes to applying this XP buff.
Option one is the one I chose. It’s pre-questing. you’ll probably get ganked about 30 times. But starting on Tuesday, completing quests does provide more gold. Also, Waylaid Supplies dropped by mobs are very profitable for me, especially when I start killing mobs at level 34 to 40. I usually get 12 gold boxes, which also gives me 3,400 XP.
The second option is to lock yourself in a dungeon, starting with Shadowfang Keep around level 22, and then either Stockade or Razorfen Kraul, depending on Alliance or Horde.
You will also need to have your BFD removed every 3 days. You originally earn 23,000 XP per clear, but this will be doubled on Tuesday, essentially maxing out every time you raid. The most important thing is that you have a high chance of getting the relevant Pre-BiS Gear.
The third option is to do quests while mixing SM spam at levels 22 to 40. Surprisingly, the gap between open world leveling and questing isn’t as big as I thought. The real benefit of doing this is that you’re a level or two ahead on the quest route and you can get everything done faster. In most cases, you can earn more XP per hour.
So I’m just saying quests and dungeons are not far off in XP. For example, I’ve been hit by Horde a lot more than other areas, mainly Hillsbrad Foothills and Stranglethorn Vale. So next time my quest route sends me to these two areas, I’ll replace them with dungeons.
So now you should have a pretty good idea of how to deal with all the new mission changes coming, and how to maximize your leveling speed and profits.
I’m wondering which upgrade method you prefer after the big changes to Waylaid Supplies and the 100% XP bonus. Do you still prefer dungeon leveling in those mind-numbing dungeons for 20 hours straight, or maybe you’re starting to get a kick out of some open world leveling?
Some players may not have the time to grind or start quests to make gold in WoW Season of Discovery Phase 2. But fear not, there are alternative methods to accumulate gold while semi-AFK. You can even get gold while you’re away from your computer. Next, we’ll explore 4 straightforward ways of AFK gold making.
The first method of semi-AFK gold making requires both Mining and Engineering skills, although they don’t necessarily have to be in the same character. Essentially, the process involves smelting Iron Ore with mining, crafting Heavy Blasting Powder with engineering, and finally, creating and selling Iron Grenades.
Recently, the prices of Iron Ore and Heavy Stone have significantly decreased because of hyperspawns for iron nodes and the availability of multiple layers on servers around the clock. During peak times, Heavy Stone can even be purchased for as low as 2 silver, and Iron Ore for approximately 3 silver. It’s possible that prices may continue to decline.
Understanding the profitability of this method is relatively straightforward. Each grenade craft produces 3 grenades, which vendor for 15 silver. Therefore, the craft cost needs to be under 15 silver to turn a profit. For instance, if Heavy Stone is bought for 3 silver, Iron Ore for 3 silver, and Silk Cloth for 4 silver, the total craft cost is 10 silver, resulting in a 5 silver profit per craft.
Scaling this up, if 400 crafts are completed in close to an hour, depending on factors like smelting time, the potential profit is substantial. It’s advisable to check the auction house for cheaper processed materials. Purchasing during peak times when the market is active can also yield better deals.
This method is currently effective and is likely to remain so in the future. To calculate profit accurately, it’s essential to perform the math yourself. However, as a reference, buying stacks of 20 materials and ensuring that Silk Cloth doesn’t exceed 40 silver, Heavy Stone doesn’t exceed 1.4 gold per stack, and Iron Ore doesn’t surpass 80 silver for 20 units, can lead to substantial profits: 40 silver from 10 crafts, 4 gold from 100 crafts, and 40 gold from 1,000 crafts.
Now, let’s explore the next method, which I believe is currently the most lucrative option available. It involves Alchemy and crafting potions, which many players are leveraging to earn significant amounts of gold daily. Particularly in Phase 2, when no new raids were released, there’s been a surge in demand for consumables to aid in raid clearing.
Moreover, many elixirs are also utilized in the Waylaid Supply crates, with Blizzard announcing plans to introduce new rewards to these crates, likely driving prices up even further.
Elixir of Agility is a commonly crafted item, but since it’s a recipe available to all players, profit margins are slim. However, exploring less common recipes, such as Mighty Troll's Blood Potion, can yield more substantial returns. This potion requires easily obtainable ingredients like Life Root and Bruiseweed, which are relatively inexpensive to acquire. Crafting and selling these potions can effectively double your investment, as seen with the example of Papon, who managed to profit significantly by crafting and selling 7 stacks of 5 potions.
Another lucrative option is the Elixir of Greater Defense, which currently sells for a decent price of 53 silver per unit. Crafting this elixir requires Goldthorn and Wild Steelbloom, when compared to the selling price, result in a profit of 10 silver per craft.
Additionally, potions like the Lesser Elixir, which requires revered reputation with a Waylaid Supply, can fetch even higher profits because of their exclusivity. With a bit of investment in obtaining the necessary reputation, players can secure a steady income stream from selling these potions.
It’s essential to explore various potion recipes and monitor market trends on your specific server, as prices can vary widely. Despite not being utilized frequently, the Alchemy semi-AFK method has proven to be highly profitable for many players, with some earning hundreds of gold daily.
Next method of semi-AFK gold making involves mass crafting with leatherworking, a strategy poised to excel in the future due to anticipated declines in leather prices. Thick Leather is essential for this method, with profitability hinging on purchasing it for under 1.2 gold per stack.
While prices may currently vary, factors like the introduction of Uldaman Hunter solo grind and the presence of multiple layers per server are expected to drive prices down, potentially to as low as 80 silver per stack.
We concentrate on crafting 2 specific items: the Nightscape Headband and the Nightscape Tunic. Crafting the Headband is advantageous if the aim is to disenchant for profit, as it requires fewer materials compared to the tunic, resulting in more disenchanting attempts.
Disenchanting the Headband typically yields 3 materials: 2 to 5 Vision Dust with a 75% chance, 1 to 2 Lesser Nether Essence with a 20% chance, and occasionally a Small Radiant Shard with a 5% chance.
Alternatively, crafting and selling Nightscape Tunics to vendors can also be profitable, particularly when leveraging discounts from city reputations and rank bonuses. Honored status with the city provides a 10% discount on silk and thread purchases, while achieving Sergeant rank 3 grants an additional 10% discount from vendors. This translates to an extra 2 silver profit per craft, equivalent to an additional 1.2 gold per hour.
Depending on the cost of Thick Leather, the potential profits vary significantly. Purchasing Thick Leather at 1.2 gold per stack could yield approximately 5 gold and 82 silver profit per hour, while buying it at 1 gold per stack could result in 10 gold and 2 silver per hour. Remarkably, acquiring Thick Leather at 80 silver per stack could lead to a staggering 14 gold and 22 silver profit per hour.
This method is anticipated to become even more lucrative on larger servers, once the auction house experiences increased activity from both bots and players. So whether you’re working from home, seeking a low-effort SOD Gold making method, or simply prefer to avoid grinding, this strategy presents a promising opportunity.
This last method is very simple. First, head to the auction house and purchase every Silk Cloth priced under 40 silver for a stack. Let’s say you have 957 gold and 78 silver. Buy all the Silk Cloth under that price point. Once you’ve obtained your Silk Cloth, consider crafting them into Heavy Silk Bandages, which can be sold for 80 silver a stack. This effectively doubles the price of the Silk Cloth stack, making it profitable.
After 9 minutes of AFK crafting, you’ve earned 40 silver. Now, you have 958 gold and 18 silver. This process can be completed within 10 minutes, earning you 50 silver every 10 minutes, which translates to 3 golds per hour. AFK can do entirely this, requiring only the time to purchase the cloth.
These prices and availability may vary depending on the time of day and server activity. With consistent effort, you can purchase thousands of stacks over the course of a day or multiple days, enabling you to craft and earn about 3 gold per hour. While it may not seem like much, it’s a profitable endeavor for minimal time investment, especially when you have spare time on your hands.
Today, I'll guide you through every aspect of the Blood Moon event for WoW Season of Discovery Phase 2, including its mechanics, recommended team compositions, boss locations, effective combat tips, and methods to obtain special buffs. You can follow these to enhance coin earnings in enemy encounters.
Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, this guide will help you farm efficiently and achieve your goals during the Blood Moon event. So let's get started!
The Blood Moon event is an exciting open-world PVP event in Stranglethorn Vale that allows you to earn top PVP and PVE gear. Additionally, it offers coveted mounts such as Reins of the Golden Sabercat and Whistle of the Mottled Blood Raptor. These treasures can be acquired with blood coins earned through event participation.
This event happens every 3 hours and lasts only 30 minutes. You can use add-ons like Nova World Buffs to alert you whenever this event is upcoming, to prepare your groups ahead of time. To participate, all you need to do is show up in Stranglethorn Vale and start fighting. During this event, everyone and everything is hostile towards you, including your own faction and NPCs within neutral zones like Booty Bay.
Your teammates are the only non-hostile players, making building a strong group crucial for maximizing coin yields. While there's flexibility in composition, I suggest including at least one dedicated Healer, one ranged damage dealer, and one melee damage dealer.
The rest of the positions can be adjusted, but keep in mind that crowd control is very effective in WoW Classic as there are no diminishing returns, leaving the opponent vulnerable without a counterattack.
Then let's discuss how currency collection and exchanges work. I know it sounds simple, but there are actually a few key details about the system that, when understood, will give you advantages and are critical to this farming strategy.
Whenever you or a group member kills an enemy player, you gain a stacking buff called Blood for the Blood Loa. A single kill from anyone on your team awards the group 5 stacks of blood. This blood buff can stack up to 255 times and can be exchanged for blood coins at any Blood Altar indicated by the red flags on your map by simply walking up and touching one.
Be careful when you have stacks, because if you die, you will lose a percentage of your total stacks, which means the higher the amount of stacks that you have, the more you will lose when you die. However, once you exchange the blood buffs for blood coins at an altar, they are yours forever.
By doing so, not only are you going to have more frequent turn-ins and lose less coins from death, but these areas on the map are typically hotspots for PVP encounters, which means this is where you will have the most opportunities to kill enemies, giving you more chances to farm more blood stacks.
There’s one more thing you need to know about speeding up your collection of coins. Let’s talk about Kha'damu, the big Elite boss that spawns in a variety of areas in Stranglethorn Vale. He is unkillable. However, there is one extremely beneficial thing about this NPC. Kha'damu will grant players 1 of 2 buffs, depending on their proximity to him. He will grant you either the Kill, Maim, Bleed buff when you’re near him or the Feast of Blood buff if you’re very close to him.
These buffs are insanely great for farming coins because they significantly increase the amount of blood you attain for each kill, so it’s highly encouraged to fight around him as much as possible during the event. The best place to farm blood coins is at the Blood Altar that is near Kha'damu.
Then, you get the bonus benefit of the buff granting you more stacks per kill. You get the ability to frequently exchange your blood for WoW SOD Gold so that you do not bleed your earnings, and there will also be a ton of opportunities to slap up some enemies and kill them to collect more blood coins.
Now, let’s talk a little about winning more encounters. There’s so much power in numbers. When your team is scattered or on staggered respawns, your odds of winning encounters are going to go way down, so stay grouped up and regroup often. We typically like to mark each other at the beginning of the event to make it easy to find each other during the chaos. I also call for frequent regrouping if we notice staggered respawns, usually we like to regroup outside of all the chaos so everyone can come together before jumping back into the fight.
The last thing is to make sure you’re not diving deep into encounters that are extremely crowded. Let your reigns deal with that to chip off some free blood and be like vultures circling around and stay on the outside. It’s best to choose encounters that are smaller, making them more manageable, but always be on the lookout for encounters that are advantageous to you in terms of numbers.
When entering an encounter, always focus a Healer and the squishy players first. If you have crowd control, make sure you’re using it constantly and especially when entering the encounter. Make sure you use the crowd control to give you an early advantage and get early kills to increase your odds.
