The much-anticipated Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is officially released on June 21st. Are you ready for the new challenges that await us?
With a ton of new content coming, it can be overwhelming, especially for players who haven’t played in years. What’s more, players who have managed to play DLC say it’s a challenging experience.
So, I’m going to share my 16 most important preparation tips or things you should do so that you can save time, avoid a lot of trouble, and be ready for the most anticipated DLC. The primary goal of this guide is to point you in the right direction or give you a general idea of what you should focus on. Let’s get straight into it.
Now let’s start with the first tip on the list, which is to prepare some Lost Ashes of War. This is important because we will be getting new Ashes of War in DLC area, and it would be great if you are prepared with a lot of Lost Ashes of War because you never know which new Ashes of War you need to copy, especially if your build revolves around dual wielding.
When you need to copy Ashes of War, you will already be prepared, so you will save a lot of time and keep your DLC experience intact.
Most of the time, Whetblades help define the build and make it stronger. Speaking of character build diversity, Whetblades often define our build by granting us Weapon Affinity and even providing diversity. It unlocks the maximum potential of a weapon or greatly changes its use in combat by adding different types of scaling.
Must-have Whetblades, such as Iron Whetblade or Glintstone Whetblade. Of course, other Whetblades are great too, so make sure to get them all.
Next up is the next tip, which is to get the best Spirit Ashes and upgrade them to the maximum. Now, we don’t necessarily need to use Spirit Ashes because it will mess up bosses and mess up their target system, but beginners, especially newbies entering a similar soul space for the first time, may need the help of Spirit Ashes.
Since we are talking about upgrading Spirit Ashes, it is wise to pile up its upgrade materials, such as Ghost and Grave Glovewort, especially Great Glovewort. We will never know if DLC will provide new Spirit Ashes, so you better prepare in advance.
The next tip is very basic. Make sure you have a Lamp or a Torch in your gear. I know what you are thinking, this tip is boring, but in hindsight, it can provide you with a lot of help when exploring dark areas, and even save your life.
Shadow of the Erdtree will provide new intricate Legacy Dungeons and more caves or underground areas. Therefore, make sure you have a light source.
In addition to Lamp, my personal favorite is Ghostflame Torch, because it provides white light. Of course, any type of Torch will do.
The easiest way to get Torch in Elden Ring is to get it from Merchant Kale who resides in Church of Elleh. Torch sells for 200 Elden Ring Runes. From there, you can equip and use Torch as often as you want.
Straight on to the next tip, which is to get as many Crystal Tears as possible. Crystal Tears, after popping Flask of Wondrous Physick, will give your build a limited but insane buff that can almost turn the tide of a battle.
My build revolves around Katanas, especially Moonveil. So in my case, utilizing Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear to further increase my magic damage, paired with Stonebarb Cracked Tear for more Stance Damage, would be beneficial.
There are a lot of good Crystal Tears in the game, such as Greenburst Crystal Tear that increases Stamina Recovery, and many more.
The next tip on the list is, of course, to maximize your Talisman Slots. You can get Talisman Pouch by defeating key bosses in the game, or by getting one when you first encounter Enia in Roundtable Hold.
Without four Talisman Slots, your combat performance will be severely compromised, so make sure you unlock all of them before DLC.
Straight on to the next tip, which is to optimize your Item Farming Setup. DLC will offer 100 weapons, and we don’t know how much time it will take to farm these secret weapons from enemies, but there are many ways to optimize your farming setup.
The first is to equip Mimic Crystal Tear Headgear, which increases your Arcane Stat by 8. The higher your Arcane Stat, the higher your Item Discovery. The higher your Item Discovery, the more likely you are to get a drop when trying to farm a weapon.
In my farming setup, I also equipped Silver Scarab to further improve my Item Discovery, and paired it with a bunch of Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot.
The next tip on the list is to fully upgrade both of your Flasks using Golden Seeds and Sacred Tears. By using both, you will increase their charges and potency. The stronger their effects, the more charges you have, meaning more room for mistakes in combat. The fewer times you stumble, the faster you progress in general.
Tip nine is to prepare runes for general use. Of course, in a DLC, we don’t know how many new weapons and items will be available for sale, or even how many weapons will be upgraded, not to mention that weapon upgrades require a lot of runes, so stockpiling Elden Ring Runes isn’t a bad idea.
The next tip ties into the rune farming tip I just mentioned, and you’ll need to upgrade your character to around Rune Level 150.
While there are no set requirements when playing DLC, like in the base game, players can make their experience harder or easier by keeping an eye on their Rune Level.
But in the recent Elden Ring event, players managed to experience DLC, and they got a level 150 character at the start. This gives us a rough idea of the recommended starting level, so it would be wise to stack the runes and use it later when upgrading your character.
The next tip I’m going to give you is to get all Somber Smithing and Ghost-Glovewort Bell Bearings in the game. I highly recommend tracking down the aforementioned Bell Bearings because they give you an unlimited amount of upgrade materials as long as you have the runes. So you can always access them in case you need them while traversing DLC areas.
While Somber and Regular Ancient Dragon Smithing Stones cannot be directly obtained from any shop, it’s a good idea to have some ready in case we need to maximize our DLC weapons.
Remember that we will have 100 new weapons, so we’ll need a lot of these weapon upgrade materials. Although the materials mentioned are quite rare, you can still get a lot of them every time you play.
Now for the next tip, if you are one of the many players who left after playing through the game once or twice two years ago, then you have most likely missed a lot of content.
Since DLC is coming out and you will be playing it anyway, now is the time to play what you missed, such as hidden bosses, NPC quests, or playing with different weapon types or character builds. This way you can get your bearings while waiting for DLC, and when it comes out, you will be firing on all cylinders and in good shape.
Now for the next tip, which is to optimize your build. It is worth mentioning that any good build will play in DLC, which has been proven recently.
That being said, I still strongly recommend picking one or two builds that you like the most or that you find yourself liking, and have at least one or two maxed out weapons for each build, so that you are flexible for the challenges that DLC will bring.
Coming up next is the next tip, which is to save your Walking Mausoleum chance and not copy any Remembrances before DLC comes out.
We have confirmation that we will have new Sets of Remembrances in DLC, so it is wise to save your chances. However, if you have already used your chances, it is not the end of the world. The more chances we have, the faster we will get the new items that DLC Remembrances offer.
For this next tip, it is highly recommended to stock up on Larval Tears in case you need respect while playing DLC.
The new weapon may interest you, so respecting your character and building around it can be fun. However, if you don’t have Larval Tears, you will need to get Larval Tears elsewhere in order to respect, which can be very frustrating.
The last tip is also one of the most important, which is to prepare your access to DLC area. In order to access DLC area, you need to defeat Radahn first, for reasons that are currently unknown and will be determined in DLC.
After defeating Radahn, you need to defeat Mohg in Mohgwyn Palace. You can enter Mohgwyn Dynasty or Palace by completing Varre Questline or visiting the teleporter in Consecrated Snowfield. After defeating Mogh in Palace, interact with Miquella’s Arm and you will be teleported to Land of Shadow.
All in all, in my opinion, these are important tips to help you prepare for Shadow of the Erdtree. If I missed an important tip, please share it. How is your preparation for DLC going? See you in the game!
Elden Ring is considered by players to be one of the greatest games of all time, so players are very much looking forward to the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which is released on June 21st. I believe that many new and old players are very eager to figure out how to level up quickly in the new version and want to be fully prepared for the challenges in the expansion.
If you know a few simple tricks, you can help your character earn more Elden Ring Runes early or late in the game. These builds will become very lively and interesting, which will also make players who have multiple builds very excited.
There are many ways to farm Elden Ring Runes in Elden Ring, and with Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, players may need some very strong strategies to get as much experience points as possible while ensuring that is a fun thing rather than a chore. This guide will introduce 8 strategies that can let you get a head start before the release of Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Come and check it out!
The first major legacy dungeon most players encounter is Stormveil Castle in Limgrave area, which is occupied by archers, ballistae operators, and lumbering giants. For early game farming, just head to Liftside Chamber Site of Grace, where you’ll encounter Stormveil fighters in Courtyard. Since they’re facing away from you, you can easily sneak up on them.
Another good place to farm Elden Ring Runes in Limgrave area is the Stormfront Site of Grace. There’s a group of soldiers stationed to the east, but be aware that there are some horsemen near this site, so be aware of your position as you lure them out with the encampment. Further east, there are several giants tied to wagons that provide very generous runes.
It’s recommended that at the earliest levels, you take out the enemies in Stormfront area first, then consider fighting the giants. This way, you’ll have an easier time taking out the archers and ballistae operators in Stormveil Courtyard.
For those players who forgo Sentinel Dragon lore in Lands Between and just want to improve these build stats, they will get a huge EXP boost. First, find Fort Faroth Site of Grace in Dragonbarrow area in Caelid.
Approach Caelid from the left near Site of Grace and beat him up, making sure to get his health down to a low point. Jump on Torrent and land a few final blows with your weapon before his health runs out.
Once he goes from stationary to moving, quickly ride Torrent back to Site of Grace to rest, which will put the dragon into a reset state, meaning you’ll need to start over. Each time, it is possible to obtain over 50,000 Elden Ring Runes.
You’ll have a number of ways to get into Mohgwyn Palace, so I won’t go into detail. It offers one of the most popular rune farms for players as Albinauric population. Why is it so popular?
There are two reasons for this: these frog-like humanoids are relatively docile in Elden Ring; and the amount of runes they provide. With just a few weapon attacks or magic blasts, you can get about 40,000 runes in a few seconds.
This is also a good way to prepare for the supreme boss of this area, Lord of Blood Mohg. Mind you, defeating Mohg is also one requirement for obtaining Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Overall, this area provides players with some great ways to strengthen themselves and obtain outstanding equipment, such as Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear.
After Mohg is defeated, remember to touch the withered arm in Mohgwyn’s Palace, and make sure to defeat Starscourge Radahn in Caelid. Together with defeating Mohg, these are the three indispensable requirements for gaining access to Shadow of the Erdtree.
After obtaining Golden Scarab Talisman, it is also very important to learn how to find the gold-pickled fowl foot, which can help you get more runes.
Once you have Golden Scarab equipped and consume a gold fowl foot, you can triple Elden Ring Runes you get from killing enemies in Albinaurics camping outside of Mohgwyn’s Palace, which is about 120,000 runes.
When clearing the dungeons in Lands Between or implementing other farming strategies, remember to use this multiplier strategy to earn you more runes.
Caelid is home to some of the deadliest enemies and environments in the game, but it is also home to some of the best farming spots. After discovering Lenne’s Rise in Caelid, simply ride Torrent downhill along the right side of the map, on the east side, until you are close to the giant archway.
During this time, you need to be very careful, because once you pass a certain point, a huge death-ball will appear and try to crush you. But don’t worry too much, just use your mount to rotate around the ball to avoid being crushed until it rolls down the hill. You can get about 2,000 Elden Ring Runes each time you do this, and it becomes very easy and quick to respawn and repeat.
Every time you respawn at Impassable Greatbridge Site of Grace, you’ll see a scene of chaos - knights and dogs twisted by the land of Caelid duke it out. Every time you respawn here, watching this chaos will earn you about 7,000 Elden Ring Runes. You can use this strategy to gain runes repeatedly.
Of course, items that can increase EXP like the golden scarab mentioned above will slightly increase these gains, but it should be noted that the golden scarab is more useful for killing enemies on the battlefield.
In fact, there are certain visual clues in Elden Ring that will let you know if you have a chance to gain additional Elden Ring Runes. For example, if you see a glowing white skull on the ground, this is a reminder that there may be a few runes hidden inside which can be crushed.
Similarly, enemies with glowing red eyes are not necessarily the most difficult to defeat, but they will definitely drop more EXP than similar enemies. Some players may have seen golden leaves floating around in certain areas of the recent Lands Between. These are Erdtree leaves.
They indicate that enemies will drop more runes than usual. Since these are randomly generated, many players will wait in the game until golden leaves fall in the sky.
Eventually, though, you need to find the runes used, such as Lord’s Runes and Hero’s Runes. These will give players 50,000 and 15-35,000 runes, respectively. These can be found in most areas of the game or can be obtained by defeating enemies.
Besides some common spawn locations and defeating bosses to get a lot of runes, the above 8 methods are also ways to get a lot of runes in a few hours to help you level up. Combined with these tips, you can train your character to a level that can enter Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Hope you are one step ahead of others when the new version is released on June 21st!
There are various bosses in the game that you need to find and find ways to defeat them, and this is also the case in Elden Ring. Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, has annoying teleports and almost predatory grabs, which make it one of the most difficult bosses in Elden Ring.
However, Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, is still a boss worth choosing to help you progress in Ranni’s questline.
In this guide, you will learn how to find Astel, Naturalborn of the Void in Elden Ring and find its weaknesses to defeat it. Follow this guide and you’ll be ready to shine in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC when it releases on June 21st!
Astel is located in a separate area south of Lake of Rot. You will reach here when advancing Ranni’s questline. You need to first go to Grand Cloister Grace in Lake of Rot, cross the ledge to the ground, find the coffin, and then ride the coffin down the waterfall. This way you can reach this area.
Then in this area you need to go west until the end of the hallway, at the end of the hallway turn left and you will find a coffin. You need to enter the coffin, and then you will respawn in a new area. From this respawn point, go north, and then you will find the fog door leading to Astel.
If you are not well prepared before fighting Astel, his attacks will wipe out more than half of your health. However, if you prepare some weapons, incantations and spells in advance, it will make the battle easier, so it is worth spending Elden Ring Runes to get these items, which will make Astel less of a difficult boss for you.
Frostbite, Sleep, and Madness will not harm Astel because it is immune to them. However, Poison, Scarlet Rot and Bleed will easily cause damage to it. Therefore, you can integrate your equipment into these corresponding weapons, incantations, and spells.
Astel is also less vulnerable to elemental damage (magic, fire, lightning, and holy) due to his defenses, even though he is not completely immune to the damage you can throw at him, the damage won’t be as great as it normally would be. While Astel has strong defenses against elemental damage, he is weak against physical damage. Therefore, magic users can use gravity sorceries to take advantage of the range advantage.
Here are some weapons, incantations, and spells that can help you against Astel, Naturalborn of the Void:
Any weapon with Poison, Scarlet Rot, and Bleed effects. Poison, Scarlet Rot, and Bleed status effects can cause Astel to deal heavy damage. Therefore, find a weapon with any of these effects and upgrade it as much as possible.
Rotten Breath Incantation. This Incantation is obtained by obtaining a dragon heart and taking it to Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid. Rotten Breath Incantation can cause heavy damage to it through Scarlet Rot.
Rock Sling Sorcery. This Sorcery can be found in a chest north of Street of Sages Ruins in Caelid. Rock Sling Sorcery is a gravity Sorcery with great tracking and range. You can use this spell from a distance when fighting Astel to avoid most of its attacks. If you find Meteorite Staff on a corpse in Street of Sages Ruins and combine it with Rock Sling Sorcery, this will increase the damage by thirty percent, making the fight much easier.
It is worth noting that you should level up your attributes and upgrade your weapons and spirit ashes before fighting Astel. You can also use Mimic Tear Ash to distract Astel and take most of the damage.
You should not always stand right in front of Astel when fighting him, even if you know that Astel’s weak point is his head, because some of the most damaging moves he uses require the use of the pincer attached to his head. Instead, you should watch the majority of his body to determine most of his attack cues and stand a little further away, as these cues can be very hidden.
Generally, you need to know how Astel prepares to attack and try to avoid it, then attack him in the head. Here are some moves you need to master to defeat Astel.
Astel will charge a purple ball and fire a laser directly at you when you enter the boss's arena. Since there is a little time to prepare, you don’t have to dodge immediately. However, you can use dodge roll first to master the timing. You will have time to summon Mimic Tear Ash or any Spirit Ashes of your choice after Astel fires the laser.
Astel’s three left hands quickly raise three purple balls, then slam them into the ground, releasing three expanding shockwaves. You can use dodge roll to avoid this move while running away. After all, it can be very difficult to react to this attack in time.
Astel raises a purple ball in each of his six hands into the air, then slams it into the ground, releasing three expanding shockwaves. This attack is similar to the previous one, but the preparation time is much longer, and you also need to keep your distance from Astel to avoid being hit by the expanding shockwaves.
Astel will charge up, then throw you into the air before slamming you back down to the ground. You can keep your distance from Astel while he charges up, and then attack him after he finishes his attack.
Astel will create a purple ball in one hand, then wave his hand in front of him, leaving a purple shroud that explodes in a split second. There are several variations of this attack that all work similarly, and you need to watch out for the single purple ball. However, you may have enough time to get through the shroud and attack his head, depending on your distance from Astel.
The biggest threat to your defeat in the entire fight is Astel’s teleport, which can cause you to be grabbed by them. Particles gather above Astel to form a large sphere that teleports Astel away. Astel can teleport to another location to attack you, and this attack is very deadly. When he starts to teleport, sprint away and watches behind you. If they teleport above you, try to watch their arms and dodge when they start to dive as if they are hugging you. This attack can cause a lot of damage and can even kill you, so avoid it if possible.
Astel will teleport away from you and summon rings behind him, which will shoot out Meteors at you. This is another teleport attack. You can avoid these Meteors by running to the side and dodging when necessary.
The last thing you need to watch out for is any movement of Astel’s main body features. For example, you should be careful of their pincers if they start to twitch, and their tails if they start to wag.
After defeating Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, you will receive Remembrance of the Naturalborn, which can be exchanged for Waves of Darkness Ash of War or Bastard’s Stars. For those who complete Ranni’s quest, a path to Cathedral of Manus Celes will be unlocked.
With the above, you can clearly know the location of Astel, Naturalborn of the Void in Elden Ring, his weaknesses, and how to deal with him when fighting him. Hopefully, this will help you win the game!
Elden Ring’s Legendary Armaments are some of the most powerful weapons in the game. There are nine Legendary Armaments in total in Lands Between, some of which can be obtained in Castle Morne, while others require completing quests.
In an update on June 7, 2024, Lands Between marked several specific locations where Legendary Armaments can be found, and they will play a big role in the upcoming Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC, which is released on June 21.
Finding these Legendary Armaments provided by Elden Ring is not just for in-game achievements, and knowing what each weapon does and where it is located can enhance your game experience and allow you to enjoy not only quick decisive battles but also high-level bosses that drop a lot of Elden Ring Runes.
Ruins Greatsword has a unique Wave of Destruction Ash of War, and can generate gravitational waves in the nearby area. As the operator, you must have 50 Strength and 16 Intelligence, with S and D scaling respectively after upgrading.
To get Ruins Greatsword, you need to defeat two bosses, Crucible Knight and Misbegotten Warrior in Redmane Castle. But it should be noted that you must go to Redmane Castle before triggering the Radahn Festival, otherwise the bosses will not appear.
Unlike Ruins Greatsword, Eclipse Shotel has Death Flare Ash of War, which can cause Death Blight buildup and continue to hit after the second attack.
Besides 10 Strength and 25 Dexterity, you also need 30 Faith to use Eclipse Shotel. After fully upgraded, its Strength can reach D level, and Dexterity and Intelligence will reach C level.
The specific location of Eclipse Shotel is in a small chapel with an altar in the southeast area of the bottom floor of Castle Sol. After entering the chapel, don’t look around. It is on the altar within reach.
This is a legendary sword of Mornburg. As a weapon of Avenger, it carries a lot of anger and regret. So Grafted Blade Greatsword comes with a unique skill, Oath of Vengeance, which can increase all attributes by 5 points in 30 seconds.
You need to have 40 Strength and 14 Dexterity to use it, and you will get B and D scaling respectively after fully upgrading.
You can get this Legendary Armament after defeating the ultimate boss of Limgrave’s Castle Morne, Leonine Misbegotten. In addition, you need to note that Castle Morne and Grafted Blade Greatsword are both related to Edgar's questline, so before going to Castle Morne, you need to talk to Irina south of Bridge of Sacrifices.
As its name suggests, Sword of Night and Flame comes with the special skill of Night and Flame Stance, which can cause Fire damage or shoot a Comet Azur sorcery by slashing.
Players need 12 Strength and Dexterity, plus 24 Intelligence and Faith to wield this sword. After fully upgraded, its Strength and Dexterity can reach D level, and Intelligence and Faith can reach B level.
This Legendary Armament is a bit tricky to find, but you can get it with patience. From Lost Grace point on the lower level of Caria Manor, go to the rooftop on the east side to the upper walkway, and then go north at the first intersection.
At the end of this path, you can jump to a higher roof and continue along the roof. Until you see a hole in the roof, jump in and you can find Sword of Night and Flame in a chest.
This sword is said to be an heirloom of House Marais, who rules Shaded Castle. A Bell Bearing Hunter from Eochaid snatched the sword from the place where he was about to be executed and gained the combat skill from his homeland, Eochaid’s Dancing Blade. This skill can shoot the energy in the weapon forward to deal with a lot of damage.
The required attributes of this Legendary Armament are a bit different. You need 24 Strength, 14 Dexterity, and 23 Arcane to use it. After upgrading, B scaling in Strength, E scaling in Dex, and D scaling in Intelligence.
You can get Marais Executioner’s Sword by defeating Elemer of the Briar in Shaded Castle. The location of Shaded Castle on the map is in Mt. Gelmir between the volcanic mountain and Altus Plateau. It looks like a castle surrounded by green sludge.
This is a sword given by Carian queen to her spouse as a tribute to the long history. Dark Moon Greatsword is also a familiar face in FromSoftware games, and it usually has the common ability to fire powerful beams of magical energy.
It is similar to Ruins Greatsword and also possesses Greatsword Ash of War, but the distinction lies in including the special Moonlight Greatsword Ash of War. This enables the sword to freeze and propel Freeze buildup forward momentarily.
The attributes required for this Legendary Armament are more conventional: 16 Strength, 11 Dexterity, and 38 Intelligence. After the upgrade, D scaling in Strength and Dexterity and B scaling in Intelligence.
Dark Moon Greatsword can be obtained by completing Ranni Witch’s questline, one of the longest and most comprehensive questlines in Elden Ring. But it is worth it, not only because of Dark Moon Greatsword but also because there are more secret areas to explore and many unique Elden Ring Items and equipment drops.
Devourer’s Scepter looks like a giant snake that wants to devour the world. It comes with Ash of War Devourer of Worlds, and can be smashed to the ground to steal the health of enemies and restore your own health.
It only requires 24 Strength, 20 Dexterity, and 25 Faith, and when fully upgraded, each attribute can reach C scaling.
The key figure to obtain Devourer’s Scepter is Bernahl, who you need to defeat to get the weapon. If you have already defeated Lord of Blasphemy Rykard, you need to go to Volcano Manor again to talk to Recusant Bernahl. Alternatively, you can kill Knight Bernahl in Limgrave’s Warmaster’s Shack, which is a more difficult method.
Golden Order Greatsword was forged by King Consort Radagon, and from the entire story, it can be concluded that it was left to him by his first wife, Rennala, symbolizing Golden Order. Likewise, it has the special skill of Establish Order, which allows players to lift it and release a close-range AOE explosion, followed by a golden light wave.
It requires relatively low attribute points, only 16 Strength, 21 Dexterity, and 28 Faith. But at the highest level, it can reach E Strength scaling, D Dex scaling, and B Intelligence.
This Legendary Armament can also be obtained by defeating the Misbegotten Crusader. It must be noted that you must go to the northeast part of Consecrated Snowfield under Minor Erdtree on the map, find Cave of Forlorn dungeon, and walk to the end.
Gransax is an ancient dragon that has brought great disasters to Royal Capital, which also means the beginning of the war against dragons. Bolt of Gransax is a spear cut from Gransax’s commonly used weapon, so it has Ancient Lightning Spear skill, which can be used to launch a charged spear of red lightning at the enemy.
When using it, your attributes don’t need to be so diversified, just have 20 Strength and 40 Dexterity, and you can reach D and C scaling after upgrading.
This weapon does not require you to defeat any monsters. Just pick it up in Leyndell in Royal Capital. After you finish defeating Godfrey, take the elevator down and jump over the railing in front of you, landing on Gransax’s giant spear. The other side of it is the location of Bolt of Gransax. Or you can pick it up directly through the roof of the small courtyard across the bridge, but you need to be careful not to fall.
After introducing these Legendary Armaments, are you more curious about Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC released on June 21? Remember the location of these Legendary Armaments, so that you can be one step ahead!
Killing Blood Lord Mohg is essential if you want to play Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, which releases on June 21st. This non-critical boss, who previously oversaw Miquellacocoon, is the main character of this expansion.
You have a chance to complete the dominant story without touching Mohg, but once you do, his blood curse attacks and haemorrhage build up can easily destroy you.
But if you follow this guide and do some careful preparation, you can kill him in the simplest way.
To actually touch Mohg in Elden Ring, you need to complete Elden Ring Varre questline first. After defeating Godrick Grafted and activating Grand Lift of Dectus, you can start the quest at any time. If you haven’t touched these yet, you may need to do the above first.
After completing Varre quest, you will receive Pureblood Knight’s Medal, which will lead you to the location of Mohg. This location is also one of the most favorable places in the game to farm Elden Ring Runes, so make an effort to get Pureblood Knight’s Medal.
When you start using Pureblood Knight’s Medal, it will lead you to an underground area called Mohgwyn Palace and a site of grace called Palace Approach Ledge-Road. North of the site of grace, you will see a road lined with Albinaurics, which are the major source of farming in this area.
If you only want to find Mohg, then jump on Torrent and go north, passing those Albinaurics and entering an open area full of blood. At this point, continue to go north, and the road ahead will slowly begin to turn left (west), and when a Giant Skeleton Spirits appears in front of you, you are on the right path.
Eventually you’ll come to a tall stone archway, and as you walk up the stairs Torrent will disappear, and you’ll eventually reach Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum, and if you look to the side, you’ll see another site of grace.
From here, you can continue straight ahead until you reach a cliffside entrance. Most of Blistered Putrid Corpses you encounter here won’t do anything to you, so you can safely bypass them. But beware, not all of them, and beware of their blood loss effect.
At the entrance, things get a little tricky, as there are two Sanguine Nobles between you and the next site of grace. You can fight them, but they’ll also cause a lot of blood damage, so the best way to deal with them is to just bypass them, just like with Blistered Putrid Corpses.
Once you’re out of that door, you’ll see Dynasty Mausoleum Midpoint site of grace right in front of you, and if Sanguine Noble is still chasing you, you can activate this site of grace to get rid of the “tail”. All you have to do now is walk up the stairs and follow the path on the right to the elevator, and you’ll find Mohg.
At this time, there will be a group of Albinaurics fighting a Sanguine Noble. Please do not participate in this battle! But you will see a box in front of Sanguine Noble. Inside the box is Sombre Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone that you need. You need to take it quickly and escape when they are not paying attention.
Now that we have covered how to find Mohg, let’s look at what you need to do before you find him. You will need to prepare the following three items:
Besides these three items, you can also use Summon while fighting him and head to the stairs before the elevator to ask for help in front of Summoning Pool. Now let’s look at how to get these three items.
You can get Mohg’s Shackle from Subterranean Shunning Grounds in Leyndell, Royal Capital, specifically at the site of grace on the Underground Roadside.
When you leave the room where the site of grace is, you will see a ladder in the alcove on the left. Climbing it will lead you to a large room filled with pipes. You need to be careful of the gargoyles on the pipes and Giant Crayfish on the ground. When you descend from the pipes to the ground and turn left, Mohg’s Shackle will be on a wall to the southeast.
Stanching Bolus Pecipes can stop blood loss from accumulating. Although you can find some in the game, it seems easier to make them. The recipe is in Nomadic Warrior’s CookBook, which can be found north of the Stormhill Shack site of grace in Stormhill, on a corpse at the end of the bridge behind Finger Crone. You will need the following materials to craft Stanching Bolus Pecipes:
Purifying Crystal Tear is useful in combat as it creates a bottle of Rite of Blood that can counteract Rite of Blood that Mohg has accumulated and heal the damage you take in combat.
You will need to go to Second Church of Marika in Altus Plateau and defeat NPCs that invade there - Eleonora and Violet Bloody Finger.Besides Purifying Crystal Tear, you will also get Eleonora’s Poleblade, which causes blood loss and becomes stronger with Dexterity and Arcane. It will be a great helper in defeating Mohg.
To make your battle go more smoothly, you will need to make sure you have the three items mentioned above. (Make sure!) Since Mohg will not rush you when you enter, you have plenty of time to go to the arena to pick up the flask and summon any ashes. Note that you need to make sure there are players willing to help you.
This guide will cover the safest and most effective way to defeat Mohg, which is to use Comet Azur's magic build and attack Mohg from a distance while he is distracted by his summons.
However, this is not the only option. Since Mohg is weakest to blood damage, any build that stacks blood damage with weapons or abilities will quickly reduce his health. In addition, when you get Purifying Crystal Tear, you will also win Eleonora’s Poleblade, which will cause Mohg to lose more blood.
Mohg is also helpless against physical damage and other damage, so you can choose a build that you are familiar with to defeat him first. But it should be noted that you must not use a fire and scarlet rot-based build, which is almost useless to him.
If you want to fight him head-on. The first stage is to avoid Mohg’s slow and telegraphed trident sweeps. If you are agile, you can attack while dodging it. You also need to be careful of bloodflame attacks. Both slashing talon attacks and flaming pools will cause you to lose blood.
At the beginning, Mohg will also cast blood curses on you, but your Purifying Crystal Tear will negate these curses, and you can use Mohg’s Shackle here to immobilize him and attack more.
When its health drops to half, the second phase comes. This is when Mogh adds blood splashes to most of his attacks and grows wings to add some aerial attacks to his repertoire. This is where Stanching Bolus Pecipe comes in handy. You need to be alert at all times because its attacks have a wide range. Also, try not to dodge them all the time, but to dodge through them.
Isn’t it easier to defeat Mogh with this introduction? There is a saying that goes, don’t fight a battle you are not prepared for. So follow this guide and get started!
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is approaching and will be released on June 21. As we all know, there are over 300 weapons in Elden Ring, but today I will pick out 10 of the best secondary weapons that you can bring into Shadow of the Erdtree DLC to take on various challenges. This list includes Staffs, Seals and more, and I'm sure at least one of them will be crucial for you.
If you want to craft a Faith build, I have some best seals for you, with no particular order. If you want a seal that only scales with Faith, you can look for the Erdtree Seal. This is found on a corpse in a cell near Omenkiller enemy in Volcano Manor. This is in the town just below Prison Town Church Site of Grace.
This one is fantastic for hybrid builds. It only requires you to improve your Faith stat to get the most efficiency out of it, meaning this is an absolute favorite for Strength or Faith builds. One thing to note is that this is definitely not for early game as you probably won't have the stats to use it once you do get to it. But it's an all-around solid seal with high levels of Faith, it is very powerful in its own right.
Golden Order Seal is absolutely amazing if you are using Prince of Death's Staff and going for an Intelligence or Faith build. So, if you have 80 Intelligence or Faith, you can rock this Seal, and you can have the absolute most powerful Staff and Seal in Elden Ring simultaneously, making you a powerhouse of magic.
On top of that, Golden Order Seal will also increase the damage done by Golden Order Incantations by 10%, and some of them, like Triple Rings of Light, are already pretty devastating. So, with a pure spellcaster build, this really can make you a force to be reckoned with.
The final one I've put on this list is Frenzied Flame Seal. This boosts the damage of all Frenzied Flame Incantations by 20% and it scales with Faith, Intellect, Strength, and Dexterity. So, you can use it somewhat efficiently with any build.
On top of that, it also has zero stat requirements, so every single character of every single level can use this seal. And on top of that, it causes slight madness buildup, so it is absolutely top tier and everybody should grab this, even if you're not planning on using it, because you can fit it into every single build in some way or another.
However, obtaining it is a bit more of a challenge than any other weapon we've listed so far because it does mean you need to reach the end of Hyetta's questline. So, you need to have given her all of Shabiri Grapes along with Fingerprint Grape and make the horrible journey down to Three Fingers. Of course, don't forget to bring enough Elden Ring Runes along with you.
Next, we go the exact opposite route and get Meteorite Staff. This is probably the easiest weapon to get in Elden Ring, as you can find it from the start, without even having to kill a single enemy. It's in the southwest building of Street of Sages Ruins in Swamp of Aeonia in Caelid. This staff is on a corpse hanging from a ledge.
What makes this staff so powerful is that it doesn't need to be upgraded, Intelligence starts at S tier, and sorceries is high as well. This is great for hybrids who just want to try out Intelligence without spending too many points. You do need 18 Intelligence to use it, but that's really all you need, and with that alone you can use quite a bit of powerful sorceries.
Also, this staff does boost the power of Gravity Sorceries by 30%, so you could get the Rock Sling in the same area as getting this staff and it would be powerful enough to melt early game bosses. However, the next 2 staffs are definitely more focused on spellcasting builds and are much more powerful at higher levels.
Then, we will talk about Demi-Human Queen's Staff. This one is nearly as easy as the Meteorite Staff to grab, dropped by Demi-Human Queen in Weeping Peninsula. This is the best all-around staff in Elden Ring for a low-Intellect build at a high upgrade level.
In the early game, the Meteorite Staff will be more powerful, but when you're getting to around 30 Intelligence and you've got your Demi-Human Queen's Staff at +10, this becomes significantly more powerful than the Meteorite Staff while requiring low numbers of Intellect.
So, this is really great for hybrid spellcasting builds where you're willing to pump a bit more Intellect into your build but would still like to focus more on something like Strength or Dexterity, for example.
Then, we'll discuss Lusat's Glinstone Staff. This weapon is easy to obtain as you can loot it from a treasure chest once you defeat Nox Swordswoman and Priest in Sellia, Town of Sorcery. While it may seem insignificant, it has one very important advantage that it can increase the amount of FP you spend by 50%. This is definitely more niche than the other 3 staffs on this list as you need very high FP to build.
This staff is for use if you want absolute damage out of your Intelligence build. However, if you can live with the damage not being that high and your spells don't need to use a lot of FP, then the other 3 staffs on this list will be better suited for you.
The last staff on the list is Prince of Death's Staff. This can be the most powerful staff in the game, but it does require you to be a pure spellcaster unless you have a very high character level, as this scales with both Intellect and Faith. If you level both to 80, it will far outperform every other staff in the game. On top of that, it will also boost the damage of Death Sorceries by 10%.
For our final weapon category, as we move into ranged weapons, our first one is Pulley Crossbow. What attracted me to try it was the fact that it can shoot 3 bolts at once, so I thought this must be crazy for applying status effects. But it's actually much more than that. You can grab the crossbow from next to Craftsman's Shack Site of Grace.
Firstly, it has absolutely no weapon scaling, so all of the power comes from the bolts and the upgrade level of the weapon. This means that as long as you meet the minimum stat requirements of 16 Strength or 12 if you are two-handed, and 16 Dexterity, that's all you need.
You can then fit this weapon into any build you want, and it will still do maximum damage because you're not losing out on any scaling. However, the raw damage output combined with how quickly it can apply status effects make the Pulley Crossbow such a powerful weapon that can easily slot into any build and just give you slightly more ranged capabilities than you had before, allowing you to exploit enemy weaknesses from a very safe distance.
Next up is Black Bow. It's the fact that you inherently have Barrage on a longbow. Barrage is really the only reason to use a shortbow. They're fast, move set, and that weapon skill in particular means that you can inflict status effects at lightning speed.
Combine this with the fact that it does share certain moves from Shortbow Moveset, so when you jump and shoot, you can then shoot again immediately upon landing, allowing for quick shooting after rolling and from a sprint. It has a slightly lower damage output than other longbows, but these other perks, more than make up for it. And fully upgraded, it's going to be reasonably powerful.
The Black Bow is found on a rooftop in Leyndell, Royal Capital. Though that being said, almost all ranged options in Elden Ring so far are still pretty lackluster as opposed to spells or their melee weapons. So hopefully, we'll see some more powerful ranged weapons in Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC.
Now, for the last weapon, we have Lion Greatbow. This can get a 20% boost to its damage when using and its unique skill is an improved variation of the skill 'Rain of Arrows', which is incredible against big targets when most of them arrows are going to hit. This can deal insane amounts of damage without the need to be anywhere near your target.
If you were to hold Lion Greatbows in both hands and then just two-hand one of them, you will get the 20% damage bonus from both, meaning that Radahn's Spear will then get a 40% damage increase. It might even be slightly more than that.
There you have it, all 10 secondary weapons that I think are worth bringing into the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. What do you think?
As we anticipate the release of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC on June 21 and the arrival of formidable new bosses, it's safe to assume that summoning Spirit Ashes will be a popular strategy for some players. There are some Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring are worth your attention, so I put together a list of the top 10. Let's get started!
I want to start with a marine summon that most people like to use - Spirit Jellyfish Ashes. Now this ash is almost no FP cost and will continually shoot poison at your enemy from range as long as it's available on the Battlefield. It does have some melee capabilities, and they aren't incredibly strong.
Its main advantage, especially at the early stage of the game, is that it is very durable, especially in the first battle against Margit, the Fell Omen. If you're finding him to be a big challenge, you can actually use Spirit Jellyfish Ashes and tank that boss. However, in some case, I like to use this Spirit Ash to poison enemies from afar so I can move away from him while he's still doing damage.
This ash is useful against bosses, and in the open world, it also does well and you can minimally tank with him if you need to. The reason I highly recommend using this ash is that you can get him so early in the game as well as the skill cap for using him being fairly low, making it accessible to most players.
Perfumer Trisha is next up on this list. She's an absolutely phenomenal support summon, and she uses her Aromatics to give you buffs as well as spreading flames around the entire Battlefield with a decent FP cost of 78.
You're definitely getting your bang for your buck, because she's not only going to help you with her Shield and Dagger. But as I said before, she's going to be able to buff you over and over again anytime you take damage on the Battlefield.
The buff that she does apply is Uplifting Aromatic, which is going to boost all ally attack power and reduces incoming damage. I think Perfumer Trisha is a must have, anytime you're just running through Lands Between and you're in the open spaces. She can definitely greatly improve your survivability.
Then, we have Mausoleum Soldier Ashes. Typically, Soldier Ashes like this, that have multiple parties within this ash, aren't very good. However, Mausoleum Soldier Ashes are amazing. They are an absolute unit of chaos and destruction and they also teleport around like Lhutel the Headless does. They're definitely something I'd like to try out, especially in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
If you take them to an open space where you are allowed to summon them, they will destroy the entire Battlefield, and the actual core units are made up of several soldiers giving them a lot of variety, with a fairly low FP cost of 75, and a wide variety of Shields, Greatswords, and Straight Swords. You are definitely going to find that this ash will steamroll everything.
Now because this is an underrated list of ashes, they won't be able to fight 1v1 with a boss, but they are a great summon to have if you want to play with them against bosses and speaking of playing with your summons instead of relying fully on them.
Next one is Latenna The Albinauric Ashes. Although it can't move, this is still an excellent support ash for you. You can go out on the Battlefield and start killing, and then you will see arrows just flying over your head, knocking enemies to the ground and doing a ton of damage. And with some Elden Ring Runes this would be even more powerful.
Place her in a good location. Her health pool is incredibly low and will very quickly be 1 or 2 shot by most bosses, especially if you're a New Game Plus. It is also very important with this particular summon that you keep aggro the entire time. This is definitely not a tank summon for you.
Next up, we have the Giant Rat Ashes, and this one is awesome because they don't take any FP or any health to cast. The coolest part about this type of ash is that there are 5 of them summoned, and they can swarm and stun lock small and medium-sized enemies. It can bring more chaos to the Battlefield while doing some damage of your own and keep the enemy from attacking for a long time.
And like I said before, there's no cost to summon them in the first place. They should be used more, especially with their stun lock capabilities. But the one weakness that many of these ashes have that are multi-as summons is the fact that if they go up against something that has an area of effect damage, they are going to get absolutely wrecked.
Next up, we have Redmane Knight Ogha. This Spirit Ashes is underrated because I think a lot of people see the combination of Bow and Sword and just wish that it was one or the other. This summon can be incredibly good at range, just like Latenna, and it also has a few different options when it comes to buffs.
It has a roar attack, giving it more extra attack power. It also has a bow attack that's going to be a charge attack, almost like Radahn does, to take out multiple enemies at once. You will also see Redmane Knight Ogha Ashes using Ash of War: Lion's Claw to absolutely obliterate the enemy.
Now, this ash is kind of a jack of all trades when it comes down to it and is not as good as some of the other Knight ashes in Elden Ring. However, I definitely think it's worth leveling up because if you just want something to support you and deal with damage, this ash is definitely for you.
Oracle Envoy Ashes is really fun to use. I think their request for FP cost is acceptable. They have a mixture of melee attacks as well as the bubble-blowing attack that the Envoy's Long Horn has. And the exciting thing is that you get 5 at once.
This ash will allow you to maintain all the aggro while they just shoot bubbles onto the Battlefield, staggering enemies, doing damage, and overall causing a lot of confusion. If you have Envoy's Long Horn, then you can have your own army. These are by no means the best summon in the entire game, but I found them incredibly fun to use.
Next up is Rotten Stray Ashes, with a low FP cost of 35 and the ability to proc Scarlet Rot on any enemy, he is absolutely incredible. I think the only thing that makes it bit rough is the fact that his health pool isn't a ton, but it has an agile fight style. After about 2 to 4 hits, you are definitely going to want to use this in your repertoire of summons.
I think the way you definitely want to use this summon is you want to tank the boss, and you want him to come and dart in and out and do his attacks, allowing him to proc Scarlet Rot so your boss will slowly whittle down while you maintain all the aggro. This is going to make overall your boss fights easier.
Kaiden Sellsword Ashes is very interesting. If it does start doing his combo attacks on enemies and he is landing them, he absolutely knock out all of them. He has a roar attack as well that's going to buff his damage, and the survivability is decent with the low FP cost.
You still need to do the majority of the damage, take the majority of the aggro from this ash. But if he is attacking the boss while you have the aggro, he's going to do some great damage, he's going to stick around for a while. All in all, it provides really fun time to play when you're in a situation with a ton of enemies around you.
The last one we have Fanged Imp Ashes. Imps are horrific to fight in general if they're in number in one of the random dungeons you go through, but when you have them on your team, they are amazing. Their health pool is not massive, but their FP cost is low, and because you get multiple of them, I think this is really worth using.
The other thing I want to mention real quick about Fanged Imp Ashes is typically if they're at range, they will throw Magic Pots. They will also take turns throwing Magic Pots, meaning one will stand behind the other one, throw the Magic Pot, and the one in the front will attack and proc bleed, and it's a good combination.
These are all the Spirit Ashes that are incredibly fun to use in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. I hope you will find this guide helpful!
Elden Ring is a game that is so big and so expansive. Sometimes, it feels really easy to miss little details or hidden locations. I used to take pride in the fact that I explore every nook and cranny of these types of games.
Next I will introduce to you the three most missed locations in all of Elden Ring.
In addition, investing enough Elden Ring Runes in Elden Ring can help you explore secret locations more efficiently.
First up on the list, we have Sellia Hideaway. This place is essential if you’re looking to finish Sorceress Sellen’s questline as well as get Lusat set and Stars of Ruin spell. The reason this one is so easy to miss is because it’s actually hidden behind an Illusory Wall and even after you find this ucer wall. There’s many more inside in order to find the entrance and this Illusory Wall. You will first want to head to Church of Plague and then head north.
On your way to Illusory Wall, there is a Sorcery waiting to blast you with spells. He’s not too difficult, so you should be able to take him out pretty easily. There’ are also a few items you’ll want to pick up along the way.
As a side note, if you’re playing offline and you don’t have any signs from people showing you where to go, you can run around spamming Margit or Mohg’s shackle, which will reveal all the hidden Illusory Wall as well. Or you just roll around and start smacking things with your sword will have the same effect.
Once you are inside Hideaway or Cave, I’m going to probably call it Cave from now on. Once you’re inside Cave, there are a bunch of really unfriendly monsters. You’ve got Miners and Sorcerers which you’ll see in a lot of Caves throughout the game. But you also have those little snail things that hide and shoot you with magic at one point towards the end.
You actually just have a bunch of them fall in your head as you’re getting ready to approach the main boss in this Dungeon. They are terrible.
But the number one worst part about this whole place is Revenant . They just decided to put a Revenant in here to just mess up your whole day. It’s not fun. When exploring this Cave and all of its nooks and crannies, remember there’s about three Illusory Wall in here. I think three or four.
But as you’re exploring, you’ll come across a two kinds of ending zones, one is the final boss where you’ll fight three Putrid Crystalians. I’m going to fight with Crystalians.
You’ll fight three of those. They’re easy if you have a strike weapon, so just keep that in mind if you have a strike weapon they’re much easier to defeat as you can stagger them very quickly and give massive Critical Hits on them.
Secondly, you will come across a sealed door. It’s kind of big and blue and glowing if you are far enough in Sellen’s questline. You will be able to then interact with this door and through talk to Lusat. He’ll give you a spell. If you come back here once you finish the questline, he will not be here and you can pick up his armor, which gives you a lot of bonuses for star type spells.
But at the end of the day, this place sucks. I don’t like it. But it’s got a lot of good stuff. So I’d highly recommend checking it out.
It definitely would not be a FromSoftware game if there wasn’t a horrifying and scary monster that kills you, grabs you and takes you off to some far away place. Elden Ring is no different. If you remember, in Dark Souls 3, there were those dudes with the cages on their back. They stuff you in the cage and take you off to another location.
Bloodborne had those big hooded figures that love to just punch you, kick you, do all the horrible things to you and then they grab you and stuff you in their bag and take you off to just the most horrible place imaginable.
In Elden Ring, we have Abductor Virgins, these guys are real creepy looking they got sometimes big old Scythe hands, sometimes they have big old Blade hands but inevitably they have a bazillion hands that come out of their stomach and try to stuff you inside.
In order to reach a secret location in Volcano Manor as well as a cool tunnel that takes you to mount Gelmir much earlier in the game than you might have expected, you will need to be murdered to death by an Abductor Virgin and then taken away. To find this monstrosity, you’ll first want to head to Schoolhouse Classroom Site of grace in Raya Lucaria.
Now if you remember that gigantic wheel that you probably jumped on to go up to get to this location. Just jump back on that wheel except take it all the way down to the ground, where you will find an Abductor Virgin waiting to destroy you.
I am also just now realizing that underneath the face of these guys. They’re holding a baby like a weird ceramic or metal just statue of a baby. That’s terrifying.
One thing to note too about getting to this location is that you are going to want to not die by its big buzz saw hands, but let it grab you. Let it pull you inside of it, chomp you up and do its Dirty Deeds to you.
After your quick loading screen you will be teleported to Volcano Manor, where you will see a bunch of broken down Abductor Virgins, you’ll see a bunch of cages. There will be a lot of bats everywhere. Trying to scream at you and attack you, just make your way through picking up any items you might find along the way.
Eventually, you will come across another Site of Grace and once you are there, you can actually teleport out of here. If you do not want to be here anymore, don’t teleport out though, because then you will not have the lovely experience of seeing all that this hidden area has to offer.
One of them being more bats and a lava fill pathway to take you to the boss. Actually, it’s two bosses. Two Abductor Virgins that you get to fight, one of them using Ghiza’s Wheel hands, the other has the Scythe hands.
If you do manage to defeat them, you will be rewarded with a weapon. After that, head forward and you will see any other Site of Grace as well as a way out of this abomination of a Cave.
Welcome to mount Gelmir. Here, you’ll encounter the Great Dragon Placidusax, the secret boss in Elden Ring.
Now there are many secret bosses but this. I think is the one that everyone considers secret boss in Elden Ring. To get to this big dinker of a Dragonlord, you need to first head to Farum Azula.
Once you have found the beside Great Bridge Site of Grace, turn around and head back down the elevator, you just came up. The reason I recommend doing this first is that this is the closest Site of Grace to this boss fight.
Once you get to the bottom of the elevator, I would recommend killing all Beastman waiting for you. You can run past if you want. But if you kill them, you won’t have them throwing things at you or shooting lightning at you. That could potentially throw off your jumping as you traverse a dangerous cliff area.
Like many areas I’ve talked about before, I completely missed this boss fight on my first playthrough and it wasn’t until watching videos after the fact that I was like, what the heck is Dragonlord Placidusax.
Turns out I just completely missed these Cliffs that you can jump off onto floating platforms. After traversing the shattered floating cliff side, you will find yourself on a much bigger portion of a wall. That has been shattered and is now floating. You’ll find a little groove that you can lie down in to do that.
After watching a very calm yet chilling Cutscene, you will get to fight Dragonlord Placidusax. Now my build was absolutely not set up for this guy, but your build actually set up for a boss fight.
This is one of the coolest boss fights in this game. It is so fun. It’s challenging. The atmosphere is awesome. The music is incredible if you’re able to kill Placidusax, you will be rewarded with a gazillion runes and the remembrance of Dragonlord.
You can take this remembrance back to Roundtable Hold and turn it in for either Dragon King’s Cragblade, which is an awesome heavy Thrusting Sword with one of the coolest weapon skills I’ve ever seen in a Souls game.
Or you can also get Placidusax ruin, which is a spell or basically a Dragon Incantation that allows you to just spew golden breath all over. It’s really cool. Go fight him.
So there you have it, those what I believe are probably the three most missed locations in all of Elden Ring. Like I said before.
I hope you won’t miss these hidden locations in the game.
Elden Ring is a game that is filled with so many incredible weapons: shields, spells armors, items and so much more. That I often don’t know what to do with them. I sometimes come across a weapon like Bloodhound’s Fang super early on.
That's just so wildly overpowered with so many Elden Ring Runes invested in the game. I also come across items where they seem completely useless. And then every so often you come across a weapon or a shield or something else. It’s weird.and it doesn’t make sense and I don’t know how anyone had the creativity to come up with it.
There are six of the weirdest weapons and shields that you can find in Elden Ring.
For those of you who have played the Old Hunter’s DLC and Bloodborne. I’m sure you are very familiar with the Whirligig Saw. It’s one of the best strength weapons in the game. If not the best, well, they have brought a version of that into Elden Ring while it might not be as overpowered.
It is still just weird. It is called Ghiza’s wheel, and it requires 28 points of Strength and 18 points of Dexterity to use. It has a unique skill called Spinning Wheel. Basically, you just grab it and charge up Death Spin Blade. You can also apply Bleed very quickly to all enemies in front of you. Now this is a very good boss killing skill, but this weapon also just dishes out a ton of damage. If you have any sort of inclination to play like you did in Bloodborne, I would highly recommend going and getting this weapon.
If you’re ever trying to get out of work for the day saying you got bit by a snake, is usually a good idea. Now if you don’t live in an area with snakes, that’s not going to work. But you can try it if you want Coil Shield is a really weird Shield. It’s made out of a snake. It’s a Strength and Dexterity Scaling Shield and has 72 Poison build up. Its unique skill called Viper Bite, basically shoots the snake out in front of you, biting the enemies in front of you.
And again causing Poison build up. It’s a really good Shield to use if you’re trying to do any sort of Poison build. It’s great for stacking poison on bosses that are not immune to it. And it’s just goofy and weird and makes a great addition to any kind of Troll PVP build you might be trying to put together.
I don’t know about you, but I have never personally crafted a weapon in the forms of the heads of my dead wife and two kids. But if you have, you would have something in common with Necromancer Garris when he crafted the family Heads. This is a flail. That is a Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence Scaling weapon with a really weird look. It also has a unique skill called Familial Rancor. This is an ability where you can run near people. You raise it up in the air, the heads kind of spay out in three different directions and start shooting out dark magics. It’s really creepy. I don’t like it. I don’t like using this weapon, but it’s really weird.
Envoy’s Horn is the weapon for you. It’s a faith Dexterity and Strength Scaling Hammer and it shoots bubbles at your enemies. The special ability, the special skill that this weapon gives you, is the ability to blow bubbles at your enemies. SpongeBob would be so proud.
Visage Shield is an absolute Beast of an item in Elden Ring, and I mean that in more ways than one. It requires 24 pounds to carry. It requires 44 Strength to wield properly, and it also has a hideous grotesque figure of a giant head with lots of flames spouts and teeth just shooting out in different gross directions. But if you want to use this super weird weapon, you will be rewarded with a super cool and unique ability called Tongues of Fire.
This is where you basically hold the shield in front of you and spew flames on all of your enemies. It’s great for crowd control. It’s great for AOE killing. It’s also really good for just smacking people. If you run out of FP, just start smacking. This thing brings the pain.
I don’t think it should be any surprise to you all when I tell you that the ringed finger is the number one weirdest weapon on my list. And it’s for many, many different reasons. One is a giant finger that you just hit people with.
Secondly, because of the skill that it has called Claw Flick, where the finger just inflates to enormous proportions and then you just flick everything in front of you. This is a weird weapon. I don’t understand why it’s in the game, obviously. There’s lore reasons and stuff like that, but a man who thought of just putting a giant finger in the game.
I mean, come on, I’ve been invaded by someone dual wielding these before. And I think I’ve died every time more just because I’m freaked out and weirded out by them more so than anything. This is a weird weapon. It’s number one on the list.
If you want to use it, you can get it real early on in the game. That’s a weird weapon.
The above are the weird weapons in my mind. Which weapons do you think are surprising to you?
