With the recent update, the football festival has made its way to Ultimate Team in EA Sports FC 24, and the developers have released special Path to Glory cards related to European Championship and Copa America. These cards will receive a special boost if the country of the player on these cards meets certain criteria and performs well in the corresponding tournament.
Several players have ended up receiving Path to Glory cards, including, but not limited to, Rúben Dias, Pedri, Rodrigo De Paul, and many more. If you’re interested in acquiring them with FC 24 Coins, the first thing you should consider is whether they will progress in European Championship or Copa America. This guide will list the 10 best Path To Glory Players for you to choose from!
Rodrigo Bentancur is arguably one of the most solid Path to Glory cards released by EA in FC 24. Uruguayan midfielder is the perfect all-around player to have at your disposal.
His excellent stats include 96 dribbling, 94 physical, and 93 passing, which show his versatility. In addition, this player has a five-star weak foot, which means he can score goals with both feet, which will greatly increase your team’s goal rate. Since he is currently performing very well in America’s Cup, there is a high possibility that he will eventually be promoted.
Federico Chiesa is another excellent Path to Glory card in FC 24. Besides being a regular in Italian national team, Italian winger is also a key asset for Juventus, and he has helped the club to a resurgence with his stable performances.
Because his speed attribute is as high as 99, which can help you break through the opponent’s defense, you will definitely like it. In addition, the 98 dribbling is also very valuable, which can be combined with his five-star skill moves to further help you win.
Kyle Walker is an indispensable player for England national team, and he can lead the defense to great success on the pitch. Not only can he be a wonderful addition to the defense in Ultimate team, but he will also be a fast full-back, making your pitch impeccable.
In addition to his strong defensive ability, Kyle Walker can also help your team attack. His crossing ability can provide goalscoring opportunities for the striker. In addition, this player is very suitable for the right wing-back position, and you can use him in this special position if you want to use a five-at-the-back formation.
Since Brazil is the favorite to win Copa America, you may want to consider Brazilian national team’s Éder Militão. Not only did he win Copa America with the team, but he also achieved some success with Real Madrid.
With him in your team, your defense will be strengthened and very suitable to fight against fast attackers. But if you want to get this card directly from the store, you need to think twice, because it is expensive.
Bukayo Saka is the star player of England team. Although he lost to Italy in the penalty shootout in the last European Cup, his performance was still very good. The team does not want to repeat the same mistake in this European Cup, so let’s look forward to their performance together.
Back to EA FC 24, his Path to Glory card shines in your Ultimate Team. He mainly enhances your offensive ability with 97 pace and 98 dribbling. You can safely leave the right side of the court to him. The five-star weak foot also performs well in shooting.
Pedri is a very skilled midfielder who has come from nowhere to become something miraculous. Although the youngster has been plagued by injuries over the past few seasons, when he is healthy, he performs very well. His appearance in 2024 European Championship also gave Spanish team a powerful push and wanted to return to its former glory.
In EA Sports FC 24, Pedri will create a lot of scoring opportunities for you and can use his 94 passing accuracy to make precise passes. Given that he can further play as an attacking midfielder, you can use him in this position.
In addition to the just mentioned Éder Militão, William Saliba is also one of the best defenders introduced in Path to Glory promo in FC 24. At Arsenal, his key outstanding performances won the club a second place in the league.
William Saliba is also an important part of French national team’s defense, stopping the opponent’s attack and providing a lot of solutions. The stats on his Path to Glory card are also very good - a defending stat of 95 and a physical state of 92, which shows that he is very reliable.
In Ultimate Team of EA Sports FC 24, it is very important to have a reliable goalkeeper. Jan Oblak’s Path to Glory card will be your choice. With 98 handling, 93 diving, and 95 reflexes, you don’t have to worry about the opponent’s ball entering your own goal post.
It is not without its shortcomings. The only disadvantage is that Slovenia is not expected to go far in European Cup. But even if it is not upgraded, the basic card provided for him can bring excellent results to your Ultimate Team.
Rodrigo De Paul’s impact on Argentina’s midfield cannot be underestimated. Argentine soccer team has had quite a bit of success over the past few years and it is expected that they will finally defend their Copa America title.
Speaking of Rodrigo De Paul’s Path to Glory card, its statistics in the game are quite impressive. Key states include but are not limited to 97 passing, 96 dribbling, and 95 physical. These together will help you control the game and especially the opponent’s midfield.
Rúben Dias is probably the best Path to Glory card in Ultimate Team in EA Sports FC 24, as his excellent defensive ability can be decisive for your team and ensure that not many goals are conceded.
His outstanding stats are: 96 defending, 96 physical, and 92 pace. With these stats, he is a very fast central defender who is always ready to fight against all kinds of attackers.
After learning about these 10 excellent players, do you have a favorite player? No matter who you choose, your Ultimate Team will be icing on the cake! I wish you a happy football festival and hope that the team you support will win excellent results in European Cup!
Before playing the game, players need to choose the right players to win the game. The selection of Designated Hitters is particularly important for MLB The Show 24. The role of Designated Hitters in baseball games is to replace the pitcher in the batting order with another player in the lineup.
Designated Hitters must focus mainly on offensive statistics, as their main area of expertise should be swinging the bat and hearing the crack of the ball when it makes contact. Designated Hitters come on the field late in the game and play one of the defensive positions, including the pitching role, but must be designated before the game starts.
This article will show you the best players in this role who will play a key role in the bottom of the ninth inning and hit a wonderful walk-off home run to win the game.
Charlie Blackmon has a 96 contact rate against left-handed pitchers, and he has enough power to hit the ball deep enough to reach first base and put himself in a position to score, as his Arm Strength is 84. This makes the lack of defensive awareness not affect it too much.
Eloy Jimenez is able to withstand high pitch counts and make contact with pitches just outside the strike zone, as he scores 84 in batting clutch points.
He can swing hard against both left-handed and right-handed pitchers, and his contact is one of his best weapons, especially against right-handed pitchers. You can get it through MLB The Show 24 Stubs.
Harold Ramirez can play long games and get multiple at-bats in a game, and with his strong Batting Clutch and Durability ratings, Ramirez is also good at reading pitches and determining when to swing for the best hit.
Against left-handed pitchers, Harold Ramirez’s swing-to-strike rating is 99, but against right-handed pitchers, it’s only 80.
Joey Meneses’ Contact Swing is powerful against both Left and Right-Handed pitchers, and Joey Meneses’ 87-level Power Swing is also a big threat to those Left-Handed pitchers.
Joey Meneses can play multiple positions, including second base, left field, and right field, but his defensive stats lack the depth to be a full-time player.
Giancarlo Stanton has pure power, with a power rating of 96 against right-handed pitchers and 87 against lefties. Stanton doesn’t strike out often because of his 80 Batting Clutch. However, his Fielding and Reaction numbers are poor.
McCutchen’s contact swing has a solid 71 rating, while his power swing is a whopping 93. Durability rating is 82, and Plate Discipline is 98. On defense, McCutchen is still capable of outfield.
Marcell Ozuna is all about power, 85 against Right-Handed Pitchers and 98 against Left-Handed Pitchers. His batting key stats are 72. His only weakness is a lack of vision, which may affect the chances of more difficult pitches. And his lack of durability and defensive performance are also below par.
Byron Buxton can instinctively catch balls hit into the outfield faster and has the power to put the ball back in play and minimize the damage. This is related to his 89 Fielding data that perfectly matches his 80 Arm Strength.
Bryce Harper is famous for his contact swing. The reason why Bryce Harper can keep hitting home runs despite high pitch counts is because of Plate Discipline 99 and Batting Clutch 90.
Bryce Harper performs well in the outfield defense and is a player that many people like to use during the season.
Shohei Ohtani’s strengths are Velocity, Break, Pitching Clutch and Arm Strength. Shohei Ohtani has excellent power for both right-handed and left-handed pitchers, and his Plate Discipline is 93 and Batting Clutch is 88, which gives him plenty of chances to hit the ball out of the park.
Shohei Ohtani has received a perfect score of 99 in MLB The Show series for two consecutive years. He is not only the best designated hitter but also the best pitcher in MLB The Show 24.
By understanding the characteristics and abilities of these players, I believe you have made a better choice to win the game. So choose your Designated Hitters and start the game!
We’re almost halfway through 2024, and if you’re wondering about the most athletic position on the baseball field, the first baseman doesn’t quite fit the bill. But it allows you to gain more defensive dignity compared to other defensive positions!
In MLB The Show 24, there are a lot of great first basemen. Although they may not be that outstanding in the actual game, we have to admit that they will always be excellent players in Major League Baseball. The ten first basemen to be introduced next will be the cream of the crop, and are also expected to perform well in MLB The Show 24.
Before we begin, allow me to introduce you to MLB The Show 24 Stubs. Through it, players can obtain new player cards in the game, such as top/legendary players, and even participate in special events and challenges. Come and try it!
In the past two years, Cleveland Guardians have focused on developing elite pitchers and have been slightly inferior in hitting ability. But that doesn’t mean Cleveland Guardians don’t have an excellent baseball player.
Josh Naylor is a player with high on-court ability and popularity. He currently has a total score of 82 on MLB The Show 24. He may not be the most commanding first baseman on the field, but he’s a solid player who excels in all three categories: contact, power, and plate vision.
If the Orioles are the biggest surprise in the 2023 season, no one should refute it. Although they did not win all the championships in October, their record of 101 wins and 61 losses throughout the year was also very good. The most surprising thing is that this team is mainly composed of young players. I admire them very much for achieving such excellent results at such a young age.
However, among this group of young people, there is another O’s veteran, Ryan Mountcastle, who is glaring. Ryan Mountcastle’s overall score is 82, which is much higher than the scores of players of the same age. And he was doing it against left-handed pitching. He performed better. If you’re going up against some left-handed pitchers, he’s the right pick!
Although the Tampa Bay Rays have the lowest salary package in the league, it still does not prevent them from often producing some extremely talented players. Their first baseman is proof of that.
In the 2023 season, Yandy Diaz relied on her excellent contact skills and keen plate discipline to score 88 points. He also made him well-known in the proper game and MLB The Show 24.
If you regularly look at the strongest power bats in the MLB, there are definitely a few names that come to mind. But when you click on the player list, you wonder who the batsmen are in these rankings.
Among them, the one that may surprise you the most is Christian Walker. He is the slugger for Arizona Diamondbacks. His excellent strength prompted him to score an excellent score of 88 points. He might not be as elite against other teams, but his power pitching might strengthen your team.
The history of MLB The Show has some controversy with including athletes. But when Vladmir Guerrero Jr. became the cover star of MLB The Show 24, it attracted a lot of attention. Although he is not currently at the MVP level, he has to admit that he is still a skilled hitter.
Vladmir Guerrero Jr., a slugger for Toronto Blue Jays, scored 90 runs in his year as the mascot for San Diego Studio’s annual baseball series. Vladmir Guerrero Jr.’s outstanding contact skills and strength make up for his lack of speed and defense.
Because of his previous strange pre-home run derby ritual, his indifferent attitude in interviews, and his strange post-game comments, Pete Alonso does not have an excellent reputation among MLB fans. But regardless of all that, his home run ability is undeniable.
Pete Alonso’s high score of 90 made him one of the iconic power hitters in MLB The Show 24. With a power rating of 99 on both his left and right hands, you can imagine New York Mets’ first baseman launching the ball into the outfield bleachers frequently.
Few first basemen are as focused and outstanding as Paul Goldschmidt. Although Paul Goldschmidt’s current statistics are a bit lower than last season’s statistics, he is still one of the most mature veterans in MLB.
His overall rating in MLB The Show 24 was 91, which is a high mark for an inexperienced player. It is possible that his ratings will continue to decline as he ages. Goldschmidt deserves a respect as his team has such a high-achieving player.
A few years ago, few people would have believed Bryce Harper would become a first baseman. As Philadelphia Phillies added new players, Bryce Harper transitioned from the outfield to the infield, making the team even better.
Before he switched positions, Bryce Harper had become one of the best hitters in MLB. According to some conventional requirements, his score of 91 may be a bit low. Considering Bryce Harper’s subsequent performance, his future rating on MLB The Show 25 is just around the corner.
With the additions of Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, it’s either a championship run or rock bottom for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The more important thing for Los Angeles Dodgers now is to prove that their 2022 World Series championship is not a fluke.
Obviously, winning games is easy when Freddie Freeman is at first base. The long-time Atlanta Braves player continues to prove that his contact skills are second to none. Arguably, his 94 rating from MLB The Show 24 is well-deserved.
It’s obvious that winning games is easy when Freddie Freeman is the first baseman. A long-time player at Atlanta Brave, he continues to prove that his contact skills are top-notch. It can be said that the 94 points obtained on MLB The Show 24 are well deserved.
Atlanta Brave is a well-rounded team with top ten hitters at every position. Especially the first baseman.
Matt Olson will later play for Atlanta Brave, which will scare this team’s rival teams. This score of 95 points is the result of all his hard training. If on MLB The Show 24, Matt Olson is called No. 2, there is no No. 1.
We will look forward to the various outstanding performances of these ten players in MLB The Show 24 and wish you a merry game.
Get ready because I'm about to reveal a bunch of important passing techniques that are often overlooked but are currently proving to be crucial in the EA FC 24 Team of the Season event. However, before we delve into these techniques, let's take a moment to enhance our understanding of passing fundamentals.
Passing is the cornerstone of gameplay in EA Sports FC 24. It's not just about moving the ball between players. An effective passing involves delivering the ball to a teammate smoothly, without disrupting the game's flow. An inaccurate pass can lead to missed offensive opportunities or the opponent gaining possession.
In the game, there are various types of passing, each serving different purposes:
Let's begin with the Ground Pass, the simplest passing method in the EA FC 24. Target a player with your Left Analog Stick and press your X or A button to send a Ground Pass directly to their feet. This is the most commonly used pass, but ensure there's no opponent blocking the passing lane.
The Driven Ground Pass, which is also called the Long Driven Pass, is a more forceful version of the normal Ground Pass. Hold R1 or RB button and power up a normal pass for a faster and stronger delivery. Use it when your passer isn't under pressure to speed up the play, though it relies on the skills of the passer and receiver.
Moving on to the Lofted Ground Pass, it's ideal for bypassing Defenders blocking Ground Passes. Double-tap the Pass button to lift the ball slightly, making it harder to intercept. You can employ this pass inside the box to evade Defenders.
Lastly, the 1-2 Pass adds dynamism to your attack. Hold L1 or LB and pass to a teammate, then watch as your initial passer makes a forward run. Use this to create new passing opportunities and confuse Defenders. It's effective when combined with other passing techniques, especially on the wing to exploit space.
However, not all passes need to go directly to where the receiver is. Sometimes, you need to send the ball to his running lane so that he doesn't lose any speed while catching the ball. Therefore, we have 2 passes that point out the direction your runner is heading to.
Through Pass: Power up the Through Pass with your Triangle or Y button while giving your passer a side angle towards the receiver. This increases the efficiency of the through ball and allows the runner to get behind the defensive line.
Lobbed Through Pass: If someone is trying to anticipate the passing lane and cut it off, allowing runners to get in behind the defense, you can use a Lobbed Through Pass to get the ball past them and into the path of the player. Watch the movement of players, identify the defensive behavior of the opponent. If not, hold down the L1 or LB button and step up the Through Pass.
Another Through Pass variation is a lofted one. It can easily dodge a Defender's interception and get the ball towards your running lane. It is much easier to control the ball with this method compared to the lobbed one. In short distances, double-tapping the Triangle or Y button will allow you to execute it.
The next one is known as the Driven Through Pass, which can be executed by holding on to both the L1 and R1 or LB and RB buttons together. The Driven Through Passes are particularly effective in wider spaces. If you spot a teammate making a direct run towards the goal with minimal defensive coverage, consider using a Driven Through Pass to swiftly deliver the ball to them.
Moving on to the Lob Pass section, by only using the Square or X button, you can achieve a lot of things, especially when facing pressure. Using a simple Long Pass easily lets you break the pressure. You can also switch sides consistently with the Long Pass to get your buildup in another direction.
If you want your Long Pass to get even higher, which can be very useful for players who have the Aerial PlayStyle. You can utilize your EA FC 24 Coins to acquire a player with this particular PlayStyle. Then you can hold on to the L1 or LB button before going for a Lob Pass. This higher Lob Pass will give your pass more height, making headers easier.
On the other side, the Driven Lob Pass does exactly the opposite. Your pass loses height but gains speed, which can be very practical if there's no one between your passer and his target. To be able to use it, hold on to both L1 and R1 or LB and RB buttons together and power up the Lob Pass.
Using this Driven Lob Pass while switching sides is very effective if you're not under any pressure. It allows you to get towards the other side rapidly and increase the pace in your buildup before the defense settles.
Here are a few passing techniques I suggest trying out in the EA FC 24 TOTS Weekend League. Have fun and win more games with them!
In EA Sports FC 24, no one starts out as a perfect player. You have to climb up step by step, improving every single day, and then become an elite player. So, in today’s guide, I’m going to share the ultimate tips to help you improve to the Elite from any division in Division Rivals and get the rewards.
Starting off with divisions 10 to 7, like other games, FC 24 has unique mechanics with different difficulties. At this stage, your aim should be to learn the fundamentals. Remember, without mastering the basics, you won't be able to progress and might get stuck at the same level. Let me give you 2 very basic examples, one for offense and the other for defense.
Defense: When defending on the pitch, mastering how to defend with Jockey is crucial. This defensive mechanic, activated by holding the L2/LT button, positions your players defensively, enabling them to better defend and mirror opponents. Rather than aimlessly chasing the dribbler, focus on getting in front of them and utilizing the jockey button to gain a defensive edge.
Offense: The direction your player faces is crucial for offense. Pressing buttons anytime is possible, but passing or shooting in a direction you're not facing decreases accuracy and power. Remind yourself if passing or shooting in a direction, turn towards it first. Take extra steps if needed, but remember this rule.
At the beginner stage, mastering basic mechanics is crucial, but hand-eye coordination can pose a challenge. Even if you know the right move, executing it accurately can be hindered by incorrect finger inputs. The key to overcoming this coordination issue is practice, and fortunately, skill games offer numerous opportunities to hone these skills.
After you learn the simple mechanics, you need to start using them together as a whole. Heading from division 6 to 3 requires a better understanding of the game. This understanding is again based on the simple mechanics but much faster. Certain FC 24 Coins can power up your players and help you against your opponents.
With the advice from the beginner stage, you can go for a pass and right after, identify your next passing target while the ball is traveling. As an extra, control the ball into that potential passing direction and already prepare the next pass. Getting used to this gives you a significant advantage.
On the defensive side, you need to control your urge winning the ball and instead of going into a wild defensive challenge, wait for the right time. Breaking the shape while rushing out with the Defender could be easily punished, so make sure you stand your ground firmly. If the opponent securely has the ball at their feet, don't rush into a tackle.
When it comes to division 1 and 2, you might have to differentiate stronger mechanics from the weaker ones. Every single mechanic has its use in FC 24, but over the years, some of them can overrule the others, and this is what we call the meta, which stands for the most effective tactics available.
This year, the Cutbacks have been extremely strong. You head towards the wing, make your way towards the goal line, then turn and pass to a player who is coming from the back or is already inside the box in a proper position. You can score many goals with this overpowered mechanic easily. But you also need to learn how to defend against the meta moves.
Let's continue with the Cutbacks again. While manually defending the dribbler, you can tap the R1/RB button twice and hold it down after the second tap to activate the Partial Team Press, which will get your AI-controlled Defenders closer to the potential passing targets.
One other clear advice that I can give you at this stage is not to rely on the same mechanic repeatedly. They might work until a point, but getting stuck to one attacking style or mechanic will also get you stuck and keep changing them in your rotation, because this will be the key to becoming an Elite Division player in FC 24.
Usually, in the first minutes of the games, the opponents show their tendencies and how they like to play in EA FC 24. Be sure to analyze both defense and offense of your opponents. For example, if you see a player who likes to dribble too much, then you can prioritize defending the dribble in the next positions.
However, that doesn't mean you're allowed to leave the other option wide open. Try to approach the opponent on their dribbling lane while also covering a potential pass. This way, you defend both opportunities, even if you prioritize one over the other.
In their defense, if they like to become really aggressive and press up high, don't panic. Make sure you distribute the ball with side passes to your teammates and try to fill the gaps they created with their aggressiveness. Remember, for every move, there's a counter-move.
Try to give the opponent an obvious intention that you're making a move towards your comfort zone. This will trigger their tendencies, but the upside is you will know what is going to happen beforehand. With this information, you can bait the opponent into one direction and execute the initial plan in your head.
One of the most consistent sports simulation games, MLB The Show, is finally back with another home run. Although Diamond Dynasty feature introduced in MLB The Show last year was disappointing, the developers said they heard the feedback and will make corrections for MLB The Show 24.
After taking a look at the recent Feature Premiere for Diamond Dynasty, it’s easy to see that they’ve generally done just that. The developers have made changes based on player feedback, with some highlights including Power Creep, Team Affinity programs, and power of Captains.
In this guide, we’ll talk about the new features and changes coming to Diamond Dynasty to help you get a head start once you get into the game.
First, let’s explain the quality of life changes, which are also the biggest changes in Diamond Dynasty because they cover various areas.
The developers mentioned Power Creep early on because people were getting tired of all the 99 ratings it was getting right away. This time, Season 1 will start with high 80 ratings and low 90 ratings, and we won’t start getting into 99 ratings until the end of Season 1. The same cycle begins again after each 3-month season.
It’s unclear whether there will be a higher floor for terms of ratings at the start of Season 2, but regardless, it should be a delightful change.
Also new is the three-month seasonal change, which ties into the general idea of XP being more easily earned, but also focuses more on trying to limit XP payouts in the game. This way, people aren’t getting ahead of others on XP reward path by taking advantage of various games.
The developers want everyone to reach 99 ratings by the end of the season, rather than a few people reaching 99 ratings in the first few weeks.
Parallel System will also be changing in MLB The Show 24, and Parallel players will need a lower threshold to reach higher parallels.
It’s worth noting that Season 2 starts with 4 wild cards in your lineup, which is an increase from last year. While you’ll need to invest more MLB The Show 24 Stubs in wild cards, this should help diversify your lineup more as the season goes on.
For Team Affinity, if you missed the 99 OVR that will come into play in TA Phase 3, don’t worry because you can get him after Season 1 as well. You only need 10 wins to earn Events and Battle Royale rewards, including Flawless, in a single run.
This also makes Team Affinity programs easier to complete, while adding more programs each season. Team Affinity is arguably the biggest change this year in terms of how it works.
There will be three batches of Team Affinity programs every season, which basically means we’ll have one every month.
These TA programs will include 30 players at a time and are much more flexible in how you earn these rewards.
If you want to acquire these players, you don’t have to do activities such as Conquest or Showdown. Because their XP requirements are generally low, the developers want us to play the game the way we want while still getting those rewards. This means that whether you prefer co-op, solo, or multiplayer, you should be able to earn these rewards.
When the third TA program drops in the third month of the cycle, there will be 99 OVR in this program. What’s more, this will be a program that you can complete at any time throughout the year, and it won’t be time-limited like the first two parts of the program.
The developers enhanced Captains and introduced Cornerstone Cards in the hope of making team-building more important and making the lineup more diverse.
Cornerstone players will appear at the start of each season, and there appear to be four players at each release, and you can swap one player for another at any time during the season.
For Captains, there will be 60 captains at launch, 2 per team, and you'll be able to earn them throughout the year.
Captains are set up to make them more important in making squads for specific teams more viable. With this in mind, your captain will give better boosts if you have fewer high-rated options. This way, you don’t feel you can’t compete with your current team’s specific squads. On top of that, each captain will improve his hitter and pitching ability this year.
Besides Live Series and more, MLB The Show will feature 250 player items this year, including Flashbacks, Legends and all that good stuff. Season 1’s bosses are Andy Pettitte, Jimmy Rollins, and Larry Walker.
Also, some of the card series coming this year include:
In terms of programs, we know at launch there will be the usual Season 1 Program, a Spring Breakout Program, and a Starter Program, which is on top of the usual Battle Royale and Ranked programs.
Sadly, we haven’t gotten a ton of news about single-player updates, as there are more single-player missions planned in various plans, other than easier access to XP and rewards. That said, it seems like playing any mode in Diamond Dynasty will feel more rewarding this year, which is the bigger overall deal.
In short, this looks to be the year for developers to correct many of the changes they made last year. Regardless, hopefully all the new content added this season will make people even more excited about the upcoming MLB The Show 24!
Most players in FC 24 want to learn advanced offensive techniques, which they consider being the most important, but most of them ignore executing the basics. Without mastering these basics, you won’t be able to improve your game.
In this guide, we’ll show you 4 important basic aspects that make an attack incredibly powerful, before moving on to the advanced stuff.
When we talk about a high-performing offense, safety comes first. This means understanding the value of possession and not giving it away easily. If you’re not careful with the ball or passing it forward, you can easily lose possession and the attack will be over before it even begins. This is why you need to safely cover the ball before you start moving.
Your touch on the ball is most important. Always aim to control the ball away from your opponent, especially when you are under pressure. Turning your back briefly to your opponent after each touch of the dribble can be an immense help.
Remember to always watch for defenders coming towards you. Safely dodging them will add another dimension to your attacks. Of course, spending FC 24 Coins to buy a suitable player will make your attack more effective.
Let me show you an example of scoring a goal just by using the safety rule concept I just explained. When I’m attacking my opponent, he’s constantly putting pressure on me, and turning my back to my opponent allows me to stay safely away from him.
When he selects a new defender, I keep possession and quickly understand their intentions so I can keep the ball from continuing the offense.
Just be careful and try not to run too much. Keeping the ball at my feet with the left stick just to keep the ball safely away from my opponent every contact so I can go through it and then I score.
As you saw in the previous example, once you have the ball safely, you need to find available space to pass or dribble.
Whatever your goals are, find the next space and recognize what your underlying goals are. If you have a legitimate passing target in front of you, make sure you turn yourself toward them and pass the ball in their direction.
If you apply the safety concept and control the ball in a way that works in your favor, then you can look for the next target that will keep you going as a chain. Finding the right space can lead you directly to the goal.
However, the term free space is not always available because the opposing defense may cover it. Here, you don’t need to force the pass, but dribble further or make a side pass.
This also helps if you have multiple targets to pass to. Because then we can take a breath and analyze which player is free and has a better chance of moving forward.
Combining the facts about your chances with your opponent’s defensive behavior allows you to act accordingly. So you either go to an available teammate or you dribble into the open space.
Let’s look at an example of how I use the available space in my build. When I receive the ball, I apply safety rules, turn my back on the opponent, and analyze how to move forward as quickly as possible.
The space on the underside seemed good, and I passed her immediately. But the opponent presses up high, so I have to be careful. There’s an open spot in the middle and I’ll immediately make two passes there while avoiding the defender as the ball travels.
I looked at the pitch again and saw freedom again in the second half and passed the ball to my full-back so he could explore there.
Now all my passing targets are covered, but my fullbacks are free. So I decided to take advantage and sprint forward to the available space to one side. The midfielder moves wide to cover me and he leaves a space open. This creates a new free space for me which I have to exploit, control the ball safely away from the opponent and pass it towards the middle.
I then pass the ball to my wing-back again, who is free on the wing, creating a perfect passing angle for my striker.
We arrive at the two-on-one situation by exploring the concept of free space. The opponent may stay somewhere between the forwards to prevent the pass. So this will allow the running forward to open up another free base in space. This time I ran forward, used my speed to get past my opponent and pass the ball inside to score.
In the example, we see players active in attack and receiving the ball in the right spaces, but we still see a lot of players not moving, they are just waiting.
If your players are too obvious on offense, this can cause problems for you because you won’t be able to find anywhere to pass the ball. That’s why you need to create a movement with yourself to create space.
We can accomplish this in a variety of ways. The easiest way to move a player into free space is to use L1/LB button to send them forward, point them with the left analog stick, and tap L1/LB.
If you want your current player to start running, you can use the 1-2 pass. Hold L1/LB button to pass after your player has passed the ball and he will sprint forward into space.
Let me show you how I use this example. When I got the ball back, I saw free space on the wing. To explore there, I need to create a movement from behind. So I’m going to play a perfect pass with Zidane, let him run, and prepare to pass to his side.
I dribble forward and play a through ball so he can get it in behind the defense and score.
However, running forward is not the only way to use space. Sometimes our players are too far apart from each other, in which case the space in between disappears. Point your target with the left analog stick again and tap R1/RB button. This will make the distance shorter and allow you to fill the free space closer to you.
Finally, we need to think outside the box. You can’t always do the same thing to a guy because they’ll start to get defensive. So you need to anticipate their defensive moves, learn their tendencies, and outwit them. Let me give you a few late-game examples.
Because the defender was very aggressive towards me. Therefore, I will move my players forward into open space in a 1-2 pass and analyze the position.
If I cover the ball well enough and watch the defender move, I can potentially break through the defense. Because he moved the wing back, he would cover like crazy with the centre-back and then run towards my winger.
So I turned around and got out of there and observed what was going on. Because of this move, the opponent created more space in the back.
So, with two passes, I explored the space where I had an advantage in an almost one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper. When he’s trying to run back as fast as he can and get the goalie two or three steps forward, he’s definitely going in the same direction as the defender. That’s why I roll the ball calmly and create a clever angle.
Since I knew his next move, I needed something to stop him. I walked right up to the goalie, forced him out, then immediately changed the direction of the ball and passed it to my teammate, who could finish this simple shot.
For the offensive fundamentals we just used, especially those that allow you to change direction quickly, will be a key tool in defeating your opponent. You can perform many tricks with them, and while defeating your opponents, you can mentally destroy them.
In this guide, we’ll cover how to defend every attack using unique Madden 24 strategies, blitzes, coverages, and disguises. If you want to learn the best defensive techniques, this guide is for you!
This game-changing defense is designed to create lightning-fast blitzes, lockdown coverages, and defensive disguises that force opponents into multiple interceptions. Without further ado, let’s get started.
We’ll be running Dollar 3-2 formation in Kansas City Chiefs Defensive Playbook.
For adjustments, first, press the right stick to make coaching adjustments, then make sure auto-flip is off. This will be used for our blitzes, as they need to come from the left side. Automatically aligns the base next turn to help disguise the defense. Then set the option defense to conservative and make sure everything else is set to default.
The next step is to select our audibles, this is very important because every time we snap we will audible to a new play. Press the left trigger to access sounds, then select from these three key plays: Cover 4 Drop, Overload 3 Seam, and FS Zone Blitz.
The last part is selecting DBL Safety Go for each snap, which rolls both safeties into the box and then pre-snaps. While the safeties remain in the box, you can audible any play you choose in the formation.
The safeties scrolled down will help disguise your defense, help play tighter coverage, and provide better run support. If you want to adjust the secondary pre-snap, adjust the player individually because if you adjust the entire secondary, the safeties will return to their original position outside the box.
The first gameplay we’re going to review is Overload 3 Seam. This will be your first choice because of its insane pressure and excellent coverage on the back end.
Please remember to select “DBL Safety Go” in the play calling menu first and then select “Overload 3 Seam” in the audibles pre snap so that the safeties are in the box.
To make adjustments, press left on D-pad and hold down the left analog stick, pinching D line. Then place the free outside blitzer in the left vertical hook and press Y or Triangle to shade your coverage, then press the right stick to get hard flat zones.
When the user plays the coverage linebacker as opposed to the blitzing linebacker, your job is to immediately hover over this A-gap, which will allow this A-Gap Blitz to move in freely for easy sacks while locking down coverage.
But after you hover, it’s important that you run back into coverage to defend this area with no defensive help.
Another way to set up coverage is to control the outside blitzer with the biggest threat in your attack, then press Y or Triangle and press the right stick to lower the coverage.
For blitz, pinch the line like we did before. Now that the offense is in a tight double formation, what I’m most worried about is the short-side receiver running the corner route.
On the far side, I’m not worried about corner routes because no receivers line up far enough to occupy the back third of any route. So this back third can easily match the corner kick you see here.
Back on the short side, if the receiver were to run the vertical and corner, the vertical would occupy the back third, which would leave the corner route open. That’s why I use the slot corner to guard the inside receiver. When the two inside receivers run corners, they are locked in and heavily guarded by the defense.
As a user in this setting, your job is to guard the middle of the field. Overload 3 Seam is very effective compared to a 5-wide offense with no running backs in the backfield.
Start by pinching D line to blitz and make sure to hover over this A gap. Then man the weak-side corner of the slot receiver and man the strong-side corner of the middle receiver.
As a user, if the inside receiver goes to the middle of the field or to the corner, follow him. Because of the tight coverage, this setup results in A-gap pressure, easy sacks and interceptions.
Now strategically, it’s important to mix your blitz and coverage calls. Once you’ve called Overload 3 Seam blitz multiple times, try pulling more players back into coverage by running a Cover 4 Drop.
Call DBL Safety Go to place safety items in the box, then audible to Cover 4 Drop pre-snap.
As a user, playing the same player and hovering in the same A-gap, so the play looks exactly like every other play will make your defense unpredictable and difficult to read.
In Cover 4 Drop, you can use it as a base or shade it for hard flat zones. Because if you blitz too often, your opponent will think he has to get rid of the ball quickly. If he does that, we’ll immediately set up zones to stop it, like you saw in this game.
If you can block one of the most popular Flood Concept plays using Vertical route, Corner route, and a Flat route, you’ll be victorious in a ton of games.
What we’re going to do is something called “Double Mable” in Cover 4 Drop, which will block Flood Concepts and Corner Routes.
First, enter the zone drops in coaching adjustments. Then, place the flat on the 30 yards and the curl flat on the 5 yard. Afterwards, select DLB Safety Go so that the safeties roll into the box and audible to Cover 4 Drop.
If Bunch set is on the short side of the field, place the outside corner where Bunch formation is on the hard flat zones and individually back him up. This way, the corner will be 30 yards deep to defend the deep cut route on the outside.
On the lone receiver side, we will use a regular Cover 4. So when the offense gets the ball, you see the corner route extending directly to a 30-yard hard flat. The flat route extends directly to the 5 yard curl flat. The vertical route just enters the inner safe zone.
One of the best meta plays this year is vertical out of a trips set, where if you can’t stop it, players will spam you and kill you for the entire game quickly.
For this play through, we’ll be doing a FS Zone Blitz. We should note that in order to change the defensive look, please do not choose DBL Safety Go, but choose to play FS Zone Blitz. Make sure zone drop is off and you have the original coaching adjustments shown at the beginning.
In this play, the left safety will roll into the box instead of both safeties rolling down, and it consists of another A-Gap Blitz.
For this adjustment versus a trips set on the left side, you need to use the middle catcher to control the rolled down safety. Then turn the coverage down for light blue hard flats. Then pinch the line and make sure you’re using the linebacker in coverage and hover over the other A gap to optimize the blitz.
Your job is to guard the inside receiver, and if he runs down the middle of the field, on a corner route, or on a vertical route, you’ll be able to sneak under like a tight end and jump over the route for an easy interception.
Also note that we get a free rusher on this A-gap while all vertical routes are locked, as are the tight end’s crossing route and the hard flats defended by the running back.
If Trips set is on the right side, put the left rolled down safety in the middle third and the other safety in the middle receiver assignment. Then pull down the shadow, pinch D Line and hover over this A gap to blitz.
Your assignment as a user is the same, just to the opposite side. If he runs down the middle of the field, running a vertical route or a corner route, catch the inside receiver. This way, you’ll be able to lock down the most popular matchups and routes in Madden with your best formation.
Here, we are showcasing 7 FC 24 football clubs in no particular order, all of whom are currently experiencing a challenging football season and are in need of a rebuilding phase as they aim to elevate their performance to a higher level.
Let's start with Spain. At the time of recording, Sevilla is just one point above the relegation zone, performing significantly below expectations.
Known as the kings of the Europa League, this season has been a struggle despite a strong squad, including veteran Sergio Ramos.
What's a rebuild without goals? Achieve the following objectives to consider the rebuild a success:
To make it challenging, we suggest the following rules during this Sevilla rebuild:
Sevilla is in dire need of a rebuild and hungry for new European success. Can you lead them there?
Now, let's head to the capital of Germany, Berlin. There are 2 clubs here, and no more in need of a rebuild, but for this guide, we'll focus on Union Berlin.
After 2 sensational seasons, they now find themselves in the lower regions of the Bundesliga. Achieve the following goals with Union Berlin to complete the rebuild:
Union Berlin's journey is remarkable, considering they were nearly bankrupt 20 years ago and were kept afloat by their supporters.
This inspires our sole unique rule for this rebuild: Never spend more FC 24 Coins than what is earned.
Additionally, we'll stick to the 2 standard rules: Choose a challenging difficulty level and repeat the same yearly goal if not achieved.
Union Berlin is a beautiful club on the quest for upward mobility, a truly great challenge.
Our next destination: 2019 Shadow.
In 2019, Ajax captured the hearts of football fans by impressively defeating Real Madrid and Juventus in the Champions League before being dramatically eliminated by Tottenham.
Following 10 Hag's departure to Manchester United, the club is a shadow of its 2019 self. This year, they can already forget about winning the Eredivisie title, which leads us to the objectives for Ajax:
Ajax fans, known for not resting on past laurels, mean 2 rules must be considered:
With these 2 rules, winning the Champions League in Year 5 becomes a significant challenge, especially when choosing a challenging difficulty level.
Bring Ajax back to the promised land, as they did in 1995 and were so close to in 2019.
For our final 4 clubs, we turn our attention to various levels in England, the mecca of football. We start in Stoke City, the least glamorous of the four.
Six years ago, their run as a mid-table Premier League team for a decade ended, and now they're languishing at the bottom of the Championship, England's second tier.
Stoke was always known for playing hard with the well-known kick and rush approach. We'll incorporate this into our rebuild:
As I said, Stoke City was known for playing hard with the well-known kick and rush football.
For this rebuild, maintain this as a rule: for transfers, we're looking for strong, fast, and tall players who imprint their aggression on the game.
Leave the beautiful, elegant football behind and dive in with the Stoke City rebuild.
Now, let's move up a level to the Premier League, where Everton is fighting relegation and facing penalties due to financial issues.
Everton has long been a solid mid-table team but has fallen so far that they are seriously fearing relegation. Additionally, there's a new stadium in the pipeline, which might not materialize if they're relegated. Everton could certainly use some renewed vigor.
We've also devised some rules for Everton to make it extra challenging due to financial troubles. Everton faces penalties such as points deductions.
Therefore, don't spend more than what is earned. Save Everton from the brink and restore them to their rightful place and beyond.
In our discussion of the final two clubs, we shift our focus to the upper echelons of the Premier League, or more accurately, its erstwhile summit. These two teams now exist as faint reflections of their former greatness, earnestly pursuing a resurgence.
Even with just a modest interest in the Premier League, the mention of these 2 clubs—Manchester United and Chelsea—undoubtedly rings familiar.
Both teams have invested heavily yet seem further from success than ever. These powerhouses are yearning for success and ready for a new rebuild.
Manchester United and Chelsea have both been trying for years to regain their form and win another Premier League title, but to no avail.
To keep it realistic, we've set the following rules:
These clubs are closer to the ultimate goal, but the journey will be a significant challenge.
