How To Play City Racers In Monopoly Go Correctly? - Event Description & Rewards
Monopoly Go players, take note! Starting August 1st, Monopoly Go is hosting a partners event for everyone, called City Racers. It’s okay if you haven’t attended partner events in the past. This one differs slightly from previous ones, so everyone is in the same situation.
In this long-running event, you’ll team up with three other players and compete against three other teams to get the highest score and beat the other three teams for the highest prize. This guide will give you detailed information about the events and some rewards in Monopoly Go’s City Racers. Come check it out!
Rewards For City Racers
When the event starts, you have about 24 hours to collect flags before the first race begins. After this, the first of three races will begin, and your team can use flags to power your cars to complete the track.
Running alongside this event are the individual events Midnight Drive and Rue De La Pace Tournaments, both of which will reward you with flags when you reach milestones. Check out the page to see how many flags you can earn. You can also earn more flags by landing them on the board, completing Quick Wins, and through eight-hour free store gifts.
It’s all about the competition, and here are the championship rewards your team will receive at the end of the third game based on their overall ranking in the game.
Final Ranking Team Rewards
- If you finish first, you’ll get 2,700 extra Monopoly Go Dice, a wild sticker, and a Speedy Scottie.
- If you finish second, you’ll get 1,000 extra Monopoly Go Dice and a four-star blue sticker pack.
- If you finish third, you’ll get 500 extra dice and a three-star pink sticker pack.
- If you finish fourth, you’ll only get 175 extra dice.
In addition to the rewards mentioned above, there will be even more dice and Monopoly Go Cards to earn in each game as you progress through the lap milestones. You’ll be given a number of reward boxes and prize options to choose from. In these boxes, you may find purple sticker packs, flags to help you progress speed up the event timer or more free dice.
Once the team’s car completes one, two, five and ten laps, the entire team will receive a bonus, and then the bonus will gradually increase for every 10 laps completed in the same race. For rewards, you can choose from several varieties, which include a lot of flags and some extra dice roll.
At the end of each race, medals are distributed based on the team’s ranking at the end of each race. Double medals are awarded for the last race. The number of medals your team receives at the end of the championship determines their ranking in the finals and the rewards the team will receive.
City Racers Gameplay
This event is divided into four phases: Team Building, Matchmaking, Races, and Tournaments. But today, let’s take a closer look at them all.
Team Building
Just like the previous partner events, you’ll need to team up with some players, and this time you’ll need three additional players to form a team. While you might think it’s a good idea to team up with the best players on your friends’ list, the game’s matchmaking system may also take net worth into account when pairing your team with three other teams.
Therefore, finding active and loyal players may be more important than finding the biggest high-roller players on your friends list. As always, the best place to find people to join City Racers is the Monoply Go Players Community, where you’ll find skilled players at all levels.
Unlike other partner events, in City Racers you can leave your team during Team Building phase and try to join another one. If you don’t have a team by the end of the Team Building phase, you’ll be assigned to one. Again, if there’s a vacancy in your team, a random player will be assigned to your team.
You can also see when a player was last online, which may give you an idea of whether they’re still active in the game. Just like in previous partner events, you can send requests to team up, and players can send you requests. Team building takes place during the first 25 hours of the event.
How Do Join A Team In City Racers?
Joining or building a team in City Racers is very different to other partner events, because if you want to team up with a player, but they already have one or two partners on their team, you will join those players as well. This differs from other partner events, where you can only choose from individual players.
You can still do this via Search For Friends button at the bottom of Build Your Teams page, and if they already have teammates, those teammates will become yours too!
As with other partner events, you can send requests to individual players, but if they already have a team, the request will go to their entire team. Likewise, if a friend sends you an invitation, you will not only join your friend’s team, but their entire team as well.
You can view the status of any team request, as the entire current team is within the same request block, and you can choose to accept, decline, cancel, etc. If you make a mistake, you can leave the team before the first race starts by clicking the red exit icon in the avatar on the event page.
Collecting Flags
During Team Building phase, you may also notice that you can also collect flags. Flags are the event tokens you need to score points in City Racers. You should see some flags on the game board during the event, but there are other ways to earn flags in the game.
Tournaments
Tournaments that take place after this event starts, such as Midnight Drive and Rue De La Pace Tournaments. Their milestone list will show the flags you can win from them.
Quick Wins
While City Racers is an active event, you can earn flag rewards in Quick Wins. Completing three daily Quick Wins not only earns your flag but also gets you closer to the final weekly prize. So you can try not to complete Quick Wins first on the day you enter City Racers in order to get a flag in the first day’s Quick Wins.
But be warned, if you complete Quick Wins after the reset but before City Racers starts, you will not be rewarded with a flag.
Shop Gift
The shop gives away a free gift every eight hours. When there are special events like City Racers, you should look for the relevant event tokens as part of these free rewards. If you don’t know how to get them, then you can tap the three lines button on the screen, tap Shop and slide the top Shop Block until you get to the last panel which says Free Shop Gift or Next countdown.
Lap Completion Milestones
As your team completes laps, you will eventually pass milestones, and when you do so, your entire team will receive milestone rewards, which may include more flags.
Races
You will start your engines at this stage and start hitting the dice poppers with the flags you win. You will need to set the multiplier to a number you are happy with and then slam the dice poppers to earn points.
There is only one thing to note here: keep an eye on your race timer countdown, which will tell you when the race is over. During the race, you will reach lap milestones, which will give you a few rewards to choose from and at the end of the race your team will receive medals based on their ultimate position. During the last race of the race, the medal rewards for that race are doubled, so save some flags for that important last race.
Tournaments
The last rewards will now be distributed to the members of each team based on the team’s final ranking, which is determined by the number of medals each team has won.
That’s all about City Racers in Monopoly Go. Hopefully, this guide will help you complete all your milestones faster and increase your net worth very easily! Have fun racing!
