There are many Gestures in Elden Ring that seem to have limited uses. For example, Erudition Gesture seems to only be a means of communicating with other players in PvP mode.

However, they are much more than that. More of their functionality can be unlocked as players explore the region of Land of Shadow.

Erudition Gesture is primarily acquired by completing a questline for an NPC. This quest requires players to traverse the many rooftops of Raya Lucaria Academy. Below is a detailed description of this method and how to use Erudition Gesture to solve two secret puzzles in Lands Between to earn rewards.

Complete Quest To Unlock Erudition Gesture

Players need to complete a questline for Sorcerer Thops to obtain it. You need to help him retrieve an item in exchange for Erudition Gesture. Sorcerer Thops can be found in Church of Irith in Limgrave, sitting with a gloomy face. And the church can be found just outside Stormveil Castle in Elden Ring.

While speaking with Sorcerer Thops, the player will be given information about the item, an Academy Glintstone Key, which will help Thops return to Raya Lucaria Academy. You may find the first Glintstone Key in the west of the south-facing Academy Gates, but this key is only used to help the player enter Academy, and is not the one Sorcerer Thops needs.

Once inside Raya Lucaria Academy, the location of the second Glintstone Key requires the player to fight Red Wolf of Radagon , in Debate Parlor. This boss is a bit tougher to fight, who boasts formidable Sorceries, overwhelming bite attacks, and quick swings of its large magical blade. Players can use Slash, Hemorrhage, and Poison-based attacks to deal with him, or choose to refine performance of your character to by devoting some Elden Ring Runes to slay this boss.

After defeating him, players need to exit Debate Parlor to the garden outside. Climb the staircase to the west and bypass, or slay enemies you have met to get extra Runes. Jump over the railing, traveling to the left of the door, which represents as a shortcut to the location of Rennala, Queen of Full Moon.

Near the shortcut door, there is a Glintstone Sorcerer, who will interrupt the progress of entering or withdrawing from the entrance. So you need to defeat him. After entering the shortcut door, travel westward to the top of the stairs until you find another railing needed to be jumped over, which will lead your way to the rooftops.

Along this path, you will find many Marionettes. Go past them until you come to a ladder that leads to a bridge above. It is best to defeat these Marionettes first to avoid being attacked halfway up the ladder. While the player can swiftly sprint past them, defeating them can be counted as the best choice. Not to mention that you will also find a Golden Rune along the way.

After reaching the top, the player needs to face west and jump onto the rooftop below. Then continue walking down. You will encounter some more Marionettes. After defeating them, jump off the west-facing ledge.

After passing the corner, there is a semicircular roof. The player needs to jump onto the roof and defeat Marionettes patrolling above. You will then see an arched window beside building which you must enter to clamber on the rafters. After walking in, you will see a corpse lying on one of the furthest beams. Head towards there and you will find an important item in Elden Ring, while the second Glintstone Key is being left on the first chandelier on the south side of the room.

Then go back to Church of Irith with the second Glintstone Key that Sorcerer Thops needs. You will have another conversation and when he mentions the key again, give him Glintstone Key and he will reward you with Erudition Gesture.

Employ Erudition Gesture To Solve Two Puzzles 

After embracing Erudition Gesture in Elden Ring, players must employ it in a particular location to solve the puzzles. You should open up the main menu in the first place, where the section of “Gestures” can be found on the right side of your screen.

First, head to Converted Tower, which resides in the southwest region of Liurnia of the Lakes. On the ground level of the tower, perform Gesture in front of the colossal statue to solve the first puzzle. 

Behind the statue, the door locked by the barrier will vanish, then players could find the initially locked-out area, Find a chest which includes a Memory Stone, which will enhance your memory slots for Sorceries or Incantations, and is pretty suitable for a Mage or Faith player. 

Next, you can exhibit the same Gesture at Converted Fringe Tower, residing in the northeastern part of Liurnia of the Lakes.
