In Maple Story 2 you are able to customize your character in a variety of ways. You are able to buy clothing items from the cash shop as well as chat bubble customization items and badges that change your name tag background. If buying an outfit does not fit your mood, you can take those merits and customize your own outfit via their Maple Workshop. It is, of course, recommend you have some knowledge of using a creative program to customize the templates. Not only can you customize your clothes you can customize mounts as well. There are a number of mounts you can buy templates for and customize.
To add to the customization you can also customize your home. There are a number of blocks to use to customize and most are free. If none of those is to your fancy, like with clothes and mounts, you can buy block templates and customize those. MapleStory 2 offers a variety of ways to make yourself as unique as possible. If you want to make some merits back, you can take your cool designs and put them up for sale on the Design Shop in-game. It takes merits to post the item to sell and there is no guarantee people will want to buy it, but it is worth a shot.
I've already spoken about the levelling experience and how you can level to 50 in about two days. Now with the cap increasing to 60, it takes a bit longer than two days to get to the cap. After you hit level 50 the levelling slows a great deal.
If you are not rushing to hit max, know there are a bunch of mini-games you can do in between questing and levelling. These minigames will pop up on the side of the screen from time to time. Each offers experience and Mesos as a reward. If you are able to make it to last round you are given a Kay Coin which can be used in Queenstown at the spin wheel for prizes. If you would like to know the type of minigames check out the Maple Story 2 site for in-depth details on them as there are many.
Another thing to do in between levelling is playing music and fishing. Both activities give you experience points and can be seen as an alternate way to level your character. If you do not want to stick around at the computer to manually do these activities, it is possible to put them on auto mode using either a voucher or by paying merits. I found this to be a great way to level a character overnight or while I'm doing other work.
As with most MMOs, this game has to craft. At the moment there are limitations on how many materials can be gathered at one time. You reach the limit when it says "impossible" and then must wait for it to refresh. As far as the kinds of crafting there are Smithing, Handicrafts, Alchemy, and Cooking. Each has a specific type of gathering to pair with it. The gathering types are Mining, Foraging, Ranching, and Farming. Ranching goes with handicrafts and farming with cooking.
For the most part, these crafting trees lead to unlocking costume parts and housing items by ranking them up. The player can craft items to increase gains for different gathering or crafting. They are also able to make items that provide temporary buffs. In the later levels of crafting players are able to make some weapons though they may not be as strong as what you can acquire from a dungeon.
One way to get some use out of the crafting is to hire an assistant. In the housing, players are able to hire NPC assistants which have crafting skills and ranks. Higher ranking assistants cost merits. Assistants have an initial merit cost, then, in order to keep the assistant, you have to pay a monthly fee. These assistants are able to craft different items for the player.
As you can see there are many things to do outside of the general questing and levelling. Each area on the map has an area quest list of things to do. Completing these awards you stars which goes towards unlocking rewards in the map view. Opening this map view, you will see areas marked with red sword icons. I'm sure you can guess what this means: You guessed it, PvP areas do exist.
I have hopped in and out of those areas but most times I've found them to be empty or people just going there for a quest but not looking for a fight. If PvP is your type of thing you can do it in those areas. These areas do have shelters a player can go to when they want to avoid or take a break from that PvP life. Currently, the PVP Arena is not in as developers are working out gear and such for that. It is slated to be reactivated in early December.
You will also see on the map menu red monster icons. These appear when there are world boss monsters appearing in an area. These monsters are typically tough and can take very long to solo. Most of these types of boss monsters have over 20 million HP at higher level areas which shows they are meant to be taken on by more than one person. There is one problem that many people have faced when fighting some of these for daily quests. There is, however, a huge amount of lag that comes from having so many players in one area attacking the same monster. If possible to get a group of people and go to a less populated channel but that can be hard at times especially if you are a solo or not in a guild.
Guilds are also in Maple Story 2. Guilds get to have a guild home area. In this area, you can add shops, assistants and get guild quests. As a leader, you can also activate guild buffs. As your guild levels and ranks up, you are able to purchase different looks for your group home. It takes an enormous amount of Mesos in order to do this, however. It is worth it in the end to have an area that might fit with your guild’s theme if it has one.
There is a battle royale mode in Maple Story 2 called Mushking Royale. As it is with other BR titles, this has seasons though at the moment it is still not active. From my experience in the closed beta, you will start by floating in a big air balloon jumping out over a large map. You can find items to pick up and throw at other players as well as battle monsters in the field for item drops to use. There are towers located around the map which will sound off when a player is near. This mode has some fun to it but can take a little getting used to since you do not use your everyday class skills.
With all that this game has come to offer I have found my fun in it. I understand the cutesy depiction of it may be a turn off for some who like realistic or more cartoon-like graphics that are not heavily anime-influenced but do not let that fool you. MapleStory 2 offers great dungeons, amazing boss fights, good class diversity and so far a pretty decent story. I know the story stops short of getting to a culmination of everything but if you've played the first MapleStory or any MMO you know this is par the course. Stories develop over time and so does gameplay.
Right now having reached the current max level of 60, I am enjoying just playing around. I spend most of my time doing dailies to save up different currencies for mounts. As well as completing daily missions in hopes to get voucher pieces to make templates to sell in my design shop. At the moment this is the endgame until the next content update. If you really want to see it at its most challenging get to level 50 and run some of the hard adventures for the first time. I recommend the Balrog fight, Temple of Immortals. Whereas it can be tough for me to the point of yelling obscenities, I really enjoy the experience.
I'm hoping since Nova's popped up recently in the story that maybe somewhere down the road we will get a Kaiser class in this. It is my favourite from MapleStory. I am looking forward to the future activities to be had in Maple Story 2. Also, the recent update that was posted October 16th, they are working on new weapon templates. I’m so excited about this because I’ll be able to make something for my Heavy Gunner that is better than a box.
Is MapleStory 2 worth getting into right now? Yes, it is. There is an awesome event going on, Mapleoply, where you play a version of monopoly that has various rewards on the board. One being "Roto Air Taxi" walkies that allow you to take a free helicopter ride to any map. No better time than now at the launch of an MMO to just level and have fun then when there are a bunch of people around to do dungeons with. If you can find a class you enjoy playing or something you enjoy doing give it a try for that.

Nexon’s MapleStory 2 has already attracted a huge number of players. The publisher confirmed that more than 1 million people downloaded the game through Steam and the Nexon launcher since its launch last week. That makes it one of the more popular massively multiplayer online games on Steam.
MapleStory 2 is the followup to one of the first free-to-play MMO megahits. The sequel gives players even more control over their characters. It also has a modern character-progression system and tools to build the world however you want. And those efforts have paid off through the huge download numbers as well as the “mostly positive” user reviews on Steam.
On the Steam stat’s page, MapleStory 2 is among the top 10 most played games right now. It had a peak concurrent player number of 33,200 today, which doesn’t include players using the Nexon Launcher. Right now, it is the No. 9 most-played game with 30,800 players. That puts it ahead of Grand Theft Auto V and just behind Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege and Rust.
Nexon says that it is adding more capacity to keep up with the influx of players. The publisher notes that it is doing extra work to add support for people in the Oceania region that includes Australia, Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia.
“Due to its rapid growth, the game continues to increase its servers,” reads a Nexon press release. “Especially for the Oceania server, where the player population continues to exceed expectations.”
It may have taken just a week, but that isn’t going to stop Nexon from celebrating. The publisher is preparing an in-game event to highlight its first massive milestone.
Beginning Friday, October 19, MapleStory 2 is getting a “Double Bonus Item Drop Event.” This will enable players to earn twice as many bonus items from completing dungeons. And a “Special Weekend Login Event” gives players a chance to earn special items for signing into the game throughout the weekend.
Of course, we’re heading deep into the month of October, which means it’s time for Halloween events. And MapleStory 2 isn’t going to miss out on the fun.
The Halloween event is live now. It gives players a chance to go on spooky quests in haunted dungeons. These include a murder mystery at the Mon Bloody Chouchou Hotel. Naturally, you can also earn themed items.
MapleStory? More like PumpkinStory! I’m sorry. That’s the best I have right now.

Make your own music and start a concert with your friends in MapleStory 2. Here’s how to get your own instruments in MapleStory 2.
Chances are, you’ve probably come across a few players who are jamming out with their guitars and pianos in MapleStory 2. These characters are usually hanging around town holding their own mini-concerts around the kingdom streets.
If you want to be just like them, you’ll need to get your hands on your own instrument first in MapleStory 2. There are a few ways you can get them, with the easiest one being through a quest.
When you reach level 20 or so, a new Maple Guide quest will give you a free Practice Digital Piano and teach you how to play music. The quest will also grant you a music sheet that you can use to start playing music, so you can also start performing on the street.
If you don’t want to wait that long, you can head on over to Tria and look for the music vendor. Just head near the Troy Inn and talk to the vendor who’s playing music to buy an instrument. Make sure to prepare your Mesos because they do cost a pretty penny.
There are different kinds of instruments in MapleStory 2 apart from the typical guitar and piano. Here’s the list of instruments you can buy from the music vendor:
Aside from instruments, you can also purchase music scores as well. You will need these scores if you plan on performing, so keep that in mind when planning your budget. As with custom clothes and outfits, you can also import your own music in MapleStory 2.
Firstly, you will need a Blank Music Score that you can purchase from the music vendor. Once you have it, right-click the music score to pull up a new menu with tools that you can use to start composing your tracks.
If you have music pre-made, you can import it to the game by copy-pasting your song code into the Blank Music Score. Once that’s done, just name your new score and start playing your music.
When it comes to performing on the street, simply open your inventory tab by pressing I and look for the Fishing/Music tab. Look for the instrument you want to use and click it to open another menu where you can choose which score you want to perform.

MapleStory 2 is filled with all sorts of quirky quests and missions. If you’re having trouble, here’s where the Stranger’s House location is in the game.
If you’re an active explorer in MapleStory 2, you’ve probably noticed the different exploration goals each map has to offer. Whenever you complete a certain goal, you’ll receive a star for that certain part of the map.
Apart from stars, you can also gain some experience and Mesos for your efforts, so it’s definitely worth working on achieving these exploration goals. That said, one particular mission in MapleStory 2 has you searching for the Stranger’s House to defeat the Mushmom inside.
The Stranger’s House is actually hidden pretty well in MapleStory 2, and it might take you a few tries to actually find it. Luckily, we know exactly where it is and we’ll lead you right to the Stranger’s House location.
The first thing you want to do is travel to Henesys, where you will find the exploration goal. From there, you want to head up north just above the red mushroom-shaped building. Climb the hills behind the building and you should come across an orange tree sticking out like a sore thumb.
That orange tree is actually the hidden entrance that will lead you to straight to the Stranger’s House location, so go ahead and interact with it. You’ll be transported to a side-scrolling map where you will find a little Mushkin waiting by the entrance.
If you’re in the right location, simply drop all the way down to the bottom of the map to find the Mushmom waiting for you in MapleStory 2. That being said, just keep an eye out on the orange tree to easily find the Stranger’s House in the Henesys map.
The Mushmom shouldn’t put up too much of a fight, so just defeat her to claim your hard-earned star in MapleStory 2. You’ll see the ruined house on the same level as the boss, and if you interact with the stone in front of it, you should pull up a deed. Congrats, that’s one more star added to your exploration collection!

MapleStory 2, the new isometric MMORPG finally arrives in the West today. The sequel launched in Korea all the way back in 2015, but is now out elsewhere in the world, following a closed beta that took place earlier this year.
For those of you not familiar with MapleStory, it blends some of the standards of the MMO genre’s fantasy traits with some aspects of the modern day. Also moving from the traditional take, MapleStory combines isometric worlds with Chibi-style characters. It’s due to go live later today, with server maintenance due to end in a few hours’ time.
As mentioned above, the MapleStory 2 closed beta kicked off in the Americas, Oceania, and Europe back in May, but some players will have had something of a jump on others. Those who bought into the Founder’s Pack will have access to the game’s Premium Club and been rewarded with some in-game currency. Head Starts were also available, which let players who bought in have access to the game from October 1.
MapleStory 2 retains the series’ focus on customization, allowing you to change up everything about your characters. There’s a brand-new class, however – Runeblade. It joins the Archer, Assassin, Berserker, Heavy Gunner, Knight, Priest, Thief, and Wizard classes, and wields a magical two-handed sword.
Maintenance on MapleStory 2’s Western servers is due to end at 18:00 BST (13:00 ET), so you’ll be able to play later tonight. Sadly, the MMO’s take on the battle royale, Mushking Royale, won’t be available at the game’s launch and will return with the start of the game’s first competitive season. You can check out the game’s official announcement trailer in the video above.

One of the best ways to get stronger in MapleStory 2 is by raising your level. Here’s what the max level cap is in MapleStory 2.
Here, you’ll set off on another grand adventure as you pick your own class and explore a vast world. While the sequel mixes things up a bit, it does take plenty of things from the first game.
The leveling system returns in MapleStory 2, giving players a chance to grow stronger by collecting experience points. That said, the game still imposes a max level cap once you hit that certain mark.
In the Korean version of MapleStory 2, the max level cap is sitting around level 99. As for the global version, on the other hand, it seems like the max level cap is around level 50-60.
The developers might raise the max level cap, later on, especially seeing how the Korean version has a higher cap. If Nexon plans on following the same cap from the first game, we might even get a max level cap of 250.
We’ll be updating this post with more details if Nexon does plan on raising the max level at a later date. If you’re grinding your character, here are a few tips on how to level fast in MapleStory 2.
There are quite a few ways on how you can earn EXP quickly in the game. If you’re a player, the best way would be to clear through the story quests first.
These MapleStory 2 missions provide a good amount of EXP along with some useful items as rewards. Doing story quests is also a great way to familiarize yourself with the game.
Otherwise, you could always turn to side quests for some extra experience points instead. You’ll see if an NPC has a side quest if they have a blue exclamation point above their head.
If doing quests really isn’t your thing, you can also grind by taking on hordes. There are certain areas in maps where enemies will continue to spawn no matter how many times to defeat them. You can pretty much stay in that area and fend off enough enemies until you reach a certain level.
