WoW TBC Classic Anniversary is progressing rapidly, and if you're still considering whether to start preparing for the raid, you're already behind.

Let's take a look at DPS classes that will give you an advantage in TBC Phase 2, choose the right class for you, and prepare for WoW Classic Anniversary.

Druid Feral Druid

Feral Druids are crucial in Phase 2. Feral Druids provide a 100 DPS boost to Warriors, Rogues, and Shamans. Adding up this extra damage, a skilled Feral Druid in a typical raid can easily top DPS charts. If your team doesn't have a Feral Druid, you might struggle to deal damage in Phase 2.

Boomkin

Boomkin is the second least popular specialization in the entire game; almost no one plays this class. Boomkin's strength in Phase 2 is underestimated. Their abilities can support Arcane Mage, resurrect Lady Vashj, and provide a 3% hit chance bonus to Fairy Fire. Because Boomkin are so rare, you'll easily find a group to team up with.

Shaman

Everyone knows Shamans are essential, as in TBC Phase 2, a warrior team with a Shaman gains approximately 150 damage.

Elemental Shaman

Not every lineup needs an Elemental Shaman, but they are absolutely indispensable in Phase 2. This isn't just because totems buff crucial groups of spellcasters, nor is it just because they can deal massive damage in a short time. The real reason lies in the most hard fight in Phase 2, Lady Vashj.

This fight involves many phases, one crucial of which is kiting Strider. Any unit that gets close will be inflicted with AoE fear, resulting in a wipe. You can use a Mage, Hunter, or a Druid with potions to kite it.

But the simplest option is undoubtedly Elemental Shaman using Frost Shock, which generates massive threat and effectively tackles one of the most troublesome parts of the fight. If you're looking to play a new class, choose Elemental Shaman.

Enhancement Shaman

Enhancement Shaman's buffs provide hundreds of points of free damage to the raid, and it has recently ranked highly in raid damage statistics. Strangely, very few people play this spec.

However, we can expect that in TBC Phase 2, guilds of all skill levels - from average to high-level, and even elite guilds - won't consider playing without an Enhancement Shaman. Therefore, if you haven't decided on a class yet, Enhancement Shaman will be highly sought after.

Priest - Shadow Priest

Shadow Priests will play a crucial role in TBC Phase 2 raids. Without them, the entire raid will collapse. In SSC and TK, the top-ranked spec in combat is almost always Arcane Mage. Once they acquire two pieces of the Tier 5 set, their main damage output increases by 20%. At that point, their DPS will skyrocket.

However, this set also increases their mana consumption, meaning that in the prolonged battles of Phase 2, Arcane Mage desperately need a Shadow Priest. Without a Shadow Priest, your mage core will rush out of mana.

Paladin - Retribution Paladin

Retribution Paladins are definitely a class that can dominate early in Phase 2. However, obtaining the gear they truly need to unleash their full potential might be a bit difficult. In Phase 2, Nether Vortex will be the focus of contention. You can obtain it from dungeons or using $1. Just like many spellcasters want to get Belt of Blasting as soon as possible, warriors believe that obtaining Nether Vortex is essential to reaching endgame gear.

However, the true dark horse among melee classes is undoubtedly Retribution Paladin. Using Nether Vortex grants Retribution Paladin Lionheart Executioner, and its damage cap is higher than other melee classes, meaning extremely high burst damage that can easily overwhelm early bosses.

Warrior

Warriors consistently top the damage charts in many fights, and because of Phase 2 changes, they will only become stronger. In Phase 2, Warrior's advantage is limited to certain fights, such as Fathom-Lord Karathress. While their original power spike should have been in the late game, the 40% reduction in fight time means warriors will spend more time using abilities like Berserk, Recklessness, Bloodlust, and Death Wish to build up rage and deal massive damage.

Hunter

Hunters frequently deal the highest damage in Gruul's fight and also top the damage charts in fights like Solaraan and Lady Vashj. Hunters are arguably one of the strongest DPS classes in Phase 2. However, they are currently receiving relatively little attention.

Warlock

Many believe Warlock will be the strongest class in Phase 2. In TBCP Phase 2, groups of mobs are a boon for any class with AoE skills, such as Warrior's Sweeping Strikes, Major Arcane Explosion, and of course, Warlock's Seed of Corruption. A well-geared Warlock using Seed of Corruption can easily overwhelm groups of mobs and deal the highest damage in the raid.

However, you need to be aware that most Warriors and Feral Druids simply cannot maintain threat on Phase 2 mob groups, and most Paladins lack sufficient spell power. They cannot generate enough threat for the upcoming groups of Shadow Priests (SSC) and Tank Knights (TK) that can instantly kill large numbers of enemies. Therefore, Warlock's survivability is very limited, and they will almost always be one-shotten when using Seed of Corruption. You need reliable teammates or superior skill to survive in the dungeon.

Not Recommended Hairpin

Hairpin remains one of the worst weapons of ARC Raiders. Although it has a built-in suppressor, it requires reloading after each shot. Every game probably needs some low-tier weapons, and Hairpin is one of them. It can certainly deal lethal damage, but only if the user is highly skilled.

Kettle

Kettle is a semi-automatic rifle with a decent rate of fire. However, some novice players later exploited macros, allowing Kettle to reach its maximum rate of fire with a single button press, thus disrupting the game balance. Consequently, the gun was nerfed. After the rate of fire cap was lowered, while it could still down enemy raiders, it was significantly slower and lost its former glory.

Arpeggio

Arpeggio is a three-round burst rifle. Tier 4 version of Arpeggio boasts an impressive kill rate, theoretically faster than Venator III. However, the lower-tier versions of Arpeggio have extremely poor handling, especially at long range. Unless you plan to upgrade it to Tier 4, I don’t recommend using it in either PvE or PvP.

Average Rattler

Rattler is a fully automatic rifle with a magazine capacity of only 12 rounds. It takes 14 rounds to down a fully shielded raider, but this can be mitigated by equipping an extended magazine. Theoretically, its kill rate is faster than Kettle's ; while not amazing, it’s decent.

Pharaoh

Despite its small magazine capacity, slow reload speed, and the need for manual reloading after each shot, Pharaoh is incredibly powerful. Using heavy ammunition, Pharaoh is very effective against low-level Arc enemies, making it a reliable and economical choice for clearing out some of the smaller, more troublesome Arc enemies in Arc Raiders. You can use it to weaken the raider first, then switch to a more lethal melee weapon like Stitcher.

Bettina

Bettina is a fully automatic rifle with a slow rate of fire. However, because it fires heavy ammunition, it’s very effective at medium to long ranges, whether in close-range or wide-range engagements. Bettina’s magazine capacity, durability, and reload speed have now been improved, and upgrading Bettina increases its rate of fire. A level 4 Bettina has a pretty good kill rate, which PvE players will appreciate, but PvP players will usually opt for other, more lethal mid-range weapons.

Burletta

Burletta is a semi-automatic pistol with a decent kill rate. It’s reliable and reasonably priced; even the basic Tier 1 version can take down enemy raiders faster than Venator III. However, it requires rapid fire to reach its full potential.

Torrente

Torrente is a fully automatic heavy machine gun with a top rate of fire. It’s bulky and poorly handled, but Torrente is incredibly powerful. Even at Tier 1, it can deal significant damage to heavy ARC enemies with its hurricane-like medium ammunition. Most players use it to eliminate enemy raiders at close range. If you can overcome its poor handling, it’s a bulky but elite weapon.

Osprey

Osprey is the only weapon in ARC Raiders equipped with a first-person scope. It has low durability and a slow rate of fire, but it’s incredibly fun to kill raiders at infinite range. Experienced players can pull off incredible maneuvers with Osprey, but this requires a lot of practice and skill to consistently hit targets in combat.

Canto

Canto is a fully automatic submachine gun with extremely strong recoil. As one of the two new weapons added in Flashpoint update, Canto boasts a very fast kill rate, but requires upgrades and weapon attachments to control its spread and recoil. Furthermore, obtaining $1 is extremely tedious. However, for players who want to quickly eliminate enemy raiders with close-range firepower, the cost is definitely worthwhile.

Anvil Splitter

Anvil Splitter is a unique gold attachment for Anvil, transforming the weapon into something entirely different. Now, each shot fires four pellets, making it function like a mid-range shotgun. Its damage per shot is considerable and can be used against ARC enemies. However, Anvil Splitter is somewhat lacking as a gold weapon attachment, less efficient in PvP than IL Toro, and therefore still needs improvement.

Tempest

Tempest is a fully automatic assault rifle that performs well in both PvP and PvE, and many players appreciate its versatility. Its kill speed is incredibly fast, even faster than Ventor 4, but Tempest is best suited for mid-range combat. In close-quarters combat, it’s inferior to Bobcat, Torrent, and Volcano. In PvE, it’s decent against low-level ARCs, but struggles against high-level ones.

Aphelion

Aphelion is a two-round burst rifle with powerful Arc Armor Penetration. It has also received some enhancements, including reduced recoil, improved reload speed and handling, and faster aiming stability. These changes make it feel lighter and more lethal in PvP, but its kill time is only average, slightly inferior to other mid-range PvP weapons.

Recommended Anvil

Anvil is a green-tier semi-automatic revolver, adept at destroying low to medium-level ARC enemies and excels at taking down enemy raiders at close to mid-range. Anvil has remained virtually unchanged since ARC Raiders update, making it a top-tier weapon. It’s a nemesis of low-level ARC enemies and is also very useful in PvP. Even as a green-tier weapon, it remains a top-tier all-around weapon in 2026.

Stitcher

Stitcher is a fully automatic short-range submachine gun. When ARC Raiders was first released, Stitcher, although a gray-tier weapon, was a powerful tool for killing raiders. Now, Stitcher has been nerfed, with reduced damage output and increased bullet spread. While its damage isn’t as high as it initially was, its shorter kill time makes it a powerful and reasonably priced PvP weapon.

IL Toro

When ARC Raiders was first released, IL Toro, despite being only a green-tier weapon, was arguably the best weapon in the game for killing other raiders. Although it has now been nerfed with a significantly reduced rate of fire and a slightly shorter damage drop-off point (previously requiring two shots to down a medium-shielded enemy, now requiring three), it’s still very powerful. IL Toro remains an elite-tier and reasonably priced raider killer.

Renegade

Renegade bolt-action long-range rifle performs well against low-flying targets and is highly efficient at eliminating enemy raiders at mid-to-long range. While its kill time may not seem impressive, Renegade’s strength lies in its near-accurate rate of fire for long-range raider kills. Although upgrading this weapon is very expensive, Renegade is definitely worth it if you plan to participate in long-range PvP.

Ventor

Ventor is a semi-automatic pistol that has been the undisputed best PvP weapon in ARC Raiders since its release, far ahead of the competition. Even after several nerfs, and no longer being the undisputed best weapon in the game, a max-level Ventor remains a very efficient and reliable PvP weapon, still very powerful at close to mid-range.

Equalizer

Equalizer is a fully automatic heavy machine gun with an extremely high rate of fire. Equalizer has remained virtually unchanged since the release of ARC Raiders. It can easily strip through the armor of even the toughest ARC enemies, making it a top-tier weapon against Queen and Matriarch, and is considered one of the strongest and most stable PvE weapons in ARC Raiders.

Bobcat

Bobcat is a fully automatic submachine gun with an extremely high rate of fire, making it one of the most lethal close-range PvP weapons in ARC Raiders. If the enemy doesn’t have a Vulcano or other effective defensive measures, they are almost certainly dead once Bobcat user fires first. Bobcat has a large bullet spread and significant recoil. Its fatal weaknesses are low long-range damage and a small magazine capacity, but these can be easily overcome by close-range use and crafting extended magazine attachments. It remains a powerful tool for eliminating Raiders.

Hullcracker

Hullcracker is a pump-action grenade launcher. Hullcracker was very powerful when ARC Raiders was first released, but was later nerfed, for example, by reducing its damage output against wide-area targets and increasing the price of ammunition. Despite these frustrating changes, Hullcracker remains an indispensable primary weapon in PvE, still capable of creating massive holes in large ARC enemies.

Vulcano

Vulcano is a semi-automatic shotgun with a very high rate of fire. Currently, it’s arguably the strongest close-range PvP weapon in Arc Raiders, theoretically boasting the fastest kill speed of all guns. Furthermore, Vulcano’s blueprint has been significantly easier to obtain, suggesting this weapon is likely to be nerfed soon. Be careful of close-range attacks from enemies using Vulcano.

Jupiter

Jupiter is a long-range, anti-arc sniper rifle that requires charging for each shot. Since the release of Arc Raiders, Jupiter has received several buffs, including higher magnification and improved handling. Each shot deals significant damage, and with high accuracy, it can effectively penetrate large, heavily armored ARC targets. It excels particularly against the newest advanced flying arc-shaped enemies like Vaporizer.

Dolabra

Dolabra is a unique weapon. When hip-fired, it functions like a shotgun, but when aimed, it transforms into a more accurate mid-range rail gun. In PvE, its damage is indeed high, but it’s less effective than Jupiter and Equalizer when dealing with wide-area attacks. However, it’s highly efficient in PvP, capable of taking down enemies at close range with just two hip-fire shots, while also providing decent damage at mid-range.

In ARC Raiders, no weapon is absolutely perfect. True survival masters know how to switch weapons flexibly based on the battle situation, enemy type, and their own resources. Learn more about the latest information and find the survival style that best suits you. 

ARC Raiders has recently received several key updates and community updates.

For example, Flashpoint update added new weapons, new map states, and some new missions, bringing players a lot of freshness and fun.

But that's not all. There are temporary solutions to issues players have encountered, such as account anomalies and frequent crashes, as well as official hints about the next phase of content. Meanwhile, the Nvidia driver update also brings additional graphics and performance improvements to the game. Let's discuss these in detail.

Account Token Anomalies

Some players have shared on the community that their ARC Raiders tokens have dropped to -1720, showing a negative balance. This is most likely because some players obtained in-game currency from other platforms and then refunded it.

The official response was not to directly ban the account, but only to handle the negative balance. Compared to some games that would directly ban your account, or at least keep it banned until you pay off the debt, this is a relatively mild approach. Other players should avoid similar actions to prevent account risks.

Crash Fixes

The PC non-Steam version has recently experienced frequent crashes. The development team has confirmed the issue and is working on a fix. They are usually quick to fix game crashes, so there's no need to worry too much.

If you're also encountering this problem, you can try the following temporary solutions:

Locate the game's executable file (.exe) and create a shortcut. Add Dx 11 launch parameter to the end of the target path. This can effectively reduce the probability of crashes, but it may disable DLSS or any other graphics enhancements, as they rely on DX 12 functionality.

You can also try resetting and repairing the game application itself. Open Windows search, type Xbox, right-click the Xbox app, go to app settings, and try repairing it. If the repair doesn't work, try resetting. This will clear some corrupted Xbox app data without affecting the game itself.

Of course, if the above methods still don't work, it's recommended to use Display Driver Uninstaller to uninstall the driver and then install a fresh driver.

Additionally, many players have encountered a bug where resource tracking cannot be canceled, resulting in a fixed display of a specific item tracking icon. Players can open their inventory and find the log in the top center. The log shows which items are actually being tracked. Clicking "X" button in the tracking list will remove these icons from the tracking list, resolving the display anomaly.

New content coming soon!

The current Expedition 3 will end on April 28th. Following the official update schedule, the next phase of the expedition content is usually announced 2-3 weeks in advance, so an announcement for Expedition 4 is expected soon.

It's worth noting that a player directly asked the community manager about this week's Expedition announcement. She stated that she doesn't have any relevant information yet. However, this doesn't mean there won't be an announcement this week.

With less than three weeks until Riven Tides event on April 28th, this transition from Expedition 3 to Expedition 4 will bring new quests related to the new coastal map, new project ranks, new $1, and reward resets, adding a wealth of new content to the game.

Interestingly, the name Riven Tides comes from Embark Studios' 2026 upgrade roadmap, with the final update named Riven Tides. The roadmap image points to a coastal map with water features - something players haven't seen in Rust Belt yet.

Players have two to three weeks to complete their current Expedition progress and earn rewards. After that, the update will bring a wealth of new content, making it more attractive to both returning and new players.

Nvidia Driver Update

Nvidia App 11.07 has been officially released, bringing some new features to DLSS 4.5 technology.

It not only updates DLSS's performance mode but also adds DLSS 4.5 frame generation. This feature will add additional engine data to some games, thereby improving the visual quality and clarity of user interface elements.

This applies to all RTX 2000 series and higher graphics cards. Players can configure the game separately in the Nvidia driver settings: set the frame generation mode to Preset B and use the recommended mode for super-resolution to enable the latest optimizations. This setting needs to be manually adjusted, and enabling it will significantly improve image stability and smoothness.

Overall, ARC Raiders is still iterating rapidly, with high bug-fixing efficiency. Future Expedition content is worth looking forward to. Players can optimize their settings according to their own needs to smoothly transition to the next Expedition.

Rusted Tools occupy a delicate position in Arc Raiders. They are crucial to gameplay and the overall experience, serving as key items from the early to mid-game, but acquiring them is not straightforward.

These mechanical components each weigh 2 kilograms, and each slot can stack three components. They are the key tools for upgrading Gunsmith's Workshop from level one to level two.

I will summarize some key points from my experience acquiring Rusted Tools in Arc Raiders, including how to efficiently obtain, farm, and use them, as well as the best maps, optimal farming locations, and routes to obtain more Rusted Tools during each combat.

1. Respawn Locations

Arc Raiders map is divided into four distinct themed areas: Mechanical, Electronic, Technological, and Old World. Your HUD will only display the current area's label when you enter it.

You can only obtain Rusted Tools from the loot pools in Mechanical area.

Since the spawn points for Rusted Tools are random, you need to remember the locations of multiple Mechanical areas. Simultaneously, you need to plan a route connecting multiple mechanical spawn points. This allows you to efficiently acquire more Rusted Tools in a shorter time.

Even if you open empty chests during your search, you'll still gain experience points. Therefore, open as many chests as you can find as possible to increase your experience while acquiring Rusted Tools.

Opening a chest takes a few seconds, during which you will be unable to attack or defend. Opening a chest also makes noise, so you need to ensure your safety while opening chests to prevent nearby hostile players or ARC patrols from hearing the noise, discovering you, and posing a threat.

To address this, you can use binoculars to remotely observe the spawn points before opening chests, but this doesn't guarantee complete coverage. Therefore, you can carry some $1, such as Photoelectric Cloak, to conceal yourself from ARC detection, greatly increasing your safety while opening chests.

2. Equipment Strategy

You can choose two equipment strategies when acquiring Rusted Tools.

The first is the free equipment strategy.

The first strategy involves arriving at Mechanical area with a limited-capacity backpack and basic equipment, quickly collecting Rusted Tools if possible, and then safely evacuating through the nearest raider hatch or silent exit. This strategy incurs no losses even if the evacuation fails, but the security and rewards are minimal.

The second strategy is customized equipment.

This involves carrying some advanced equipment, such as a sturdy shield for cover (e.g., Heavy Shield), and weapons with high penetration against machine enemies (e.g., Hullcracker IV and Bettina IV).

Fighting ARCs can have a ripple effect; one engagement will attract more ARC patrols, making it essential to carry targeted weapons with high penetration.

Combined with Photoelectric Cloak I mentioned above, it not only avoids unnecessary combat but also provides a balance of high defense, high attack, and high concealment. This reduces the risk of acquiring Rusted Tools and significantly increases the return on investment.

It's worth noting that it's best to keep a set of Rusted Tools or other high-value materials in your safe pocket. This way, even if your extraction fails, the items you obtained from your safe pocket won't disappear.

3. Extraction Points and Evacuation Strategy

After acquiring Rusted Tools, if you want to take them with you, you need to safely evacuate from the extraction point. The map provides extraction methods with different risk levels. I will list two different extraction strategies for your reference.

First, Raider Hatch Strategy

If you are carrying high-level equipment and valuable items, this extraction method is the preferred choice. You only need to obtain a Raider Hatch Key through crafting, random drops, or from the vendor Shani in Speranza.

This allows you to extract safely and silently.

The second strategy is the standard extraction strategy.

A standard extraction point, once triggered, will emit a piercing alarm, revealing your location and attracting a large number of ARC patrols and nearby hostile players. Therefore, beforehand, you need to clear all ARC patrols stationed near the extraction point and discuss firefight and defensive tactics with your teammates.

However, if you arrive at the standard extraction point early, you can also choose to set traps to ambush other hostile players who arrive after completing the above preparations.

Besides ending the match with gunfights, you can also negotiate with other solo players, perhaps forming an alliance to fight against ARC patrols together. But remember, there are no permanent friends, only permanent interests; don't completely trust others.

Finally, remember to put Rusted Tools you collect into your safe pocket.

4. Workshop Upgrade

The main purpose of Rusted Tools is to upgrade Gunsmith Workshop to level 2. You need to collect 3 Rusted Tools in Mechanical Area. Also, don't forget you need to collect 5 Mechanical Components and 8 Wasp Drivers.

Before setting off, don't forget to check your inventory for any missing items and quantities.

For each Rusted Tool you find, you have three options: sell it to a merchant for 1,000 Coins, recycle it at your base, or dismantle it in a raid.

However, if you don't urgently need currency, it's best to recycle Rusted Tools at your base for maximum benefit. Since Rusted Tools are progress currency, you can use any remaining Rusted Tools to craft other needed items after upgrading your Gunsmithing skill.

After each match, Scrappy the Rooster will give you free materials, so check what you've gained before selling or recycling tools.

5. Stash Management

Before collecting Rusted Tools, consider the weight of your weapons, equipment, and other materials. A stack of Rusted Tools weighs 6 kg. Your default inventory in Speranza has 64 slots, each holding three Rusted Tools (one stack).

Therefore, you need to calculate your warehouse capacity before heading to the mechanical area. If you have enough materials, you can also choose to buy more warehouse slots. This is crucial to how many items and materials you can bring out, not only when collecting Rusted Tools.
